Too many changes. Going from several mid-sized companies to Energizer Personal Care to being spun off as Edgewell to most likely being sold off entirely has left constantly changing business models and goals
Too many shared services are outsourced, insourced and then outsourced again depending on the business model of the day with management not realizing that shared service employees also have a vested interest in the companies success - the constant changing and fearing for your job does little to help morale and basically tells the business you don't care about the shared services functions to make them a full time employee or service......just to save a small piece of $$. If you get rid of someone with 15 years of experience to outsource the position to then bring it back in-house, not only have you lost all of the original employees knowledge of the business, but the new employee has 15 less years of caring about the company than the person who dedicated so much time to the company
Technology is an afterthought at this company. Not talking actual computers, but the back-office systems are a disaster and pieced together with tape and string and hope they work. Anyone can pitch a system, get it funded under the current business model and then are shocked, shocked I tell you when it doesn't integrate with the rest of the business or the business changes direction. So many large budget projects now on the shelf gathering dust it's a shame.
Sr. managers/ Directors with a holier than thou attitude that they are untouchable and their "underlings" are made to feel expendable causes good people to leave and causes the company to have a bad reputation. CPG is a small space and a few good people leaving with a sour taste in their mouths is all it takes for them to talk to peers and people to not want to come work here.
Very little promoting from within unless you are sales or marketing. Every other department usually goes outside.
Most of the company knowledge is in CT or Allendale or Dover or Ormond Beach yet major decisions are made by people in St. Louis who have very limited experience with these business units and are the hangers on from the Energizer days waiting for their payout if the company gets sold.
Benefits are sub-par to other offerings out there.
