BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY

Pros

I have nothing positive to say about this company. There are some good people who work there. Unfortunately I had little contact with them.

Cons

From the very beginning, nothing but negativity could be felt throughout the work environment. The tension was palpable since the beginning. During the interview process, they will portray a caring image . I went through an extensive interview process that included two rounds of talking to roughly sixteen different people. I relocated from Chicago to take a position in May 2015. It was a nightmarish relocation process. I have relocated twice in the past and I have never had less support from a company. I ended up finally signing a lease in July. I moved in and was relieved to be getting my family comfortable and set up again. I was then fired in September. The only reason that was given was that it wasn’t a good fit. No onboarding, no review process, not training. Just a manager who felt it was an inconvenience to train or provide support. They up-rooted me and my family halfway across the county only to fire me four months later. No severance pay was offered. Just collect your things and go. This company was the most unprofessional and unethical to its employees. This is the most cruel thing me and my family have ever had to endure. I can only hope this doesn’t occur to anyone else working with Edgewell.

Pros

- Good Salary - Some interesting brands - Free/discounted products

Cons

- Extreme malaise among employees; literally everyone who works there is miserable, and everyone who has left is thrilled to leave this place behind - No honesty nor transparency from senior management - Constant concern that company will be bought - High turnover rate - Poor benefits - Frequent department restructures - Constant concern about job security - More time spent reviewing "what went wrong" vs. moving forward with learnings - Sales-driven organization (good if you are in sales, bad if you are in Marketing) - People who like to talk for the sake of talking, but don't add anything constructive - Working on any brand other than Men's Shave means you're invisible - Rewarding people who play political games - High-school level gossip among employees

Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased to hear that you found your compensation to be competitive and are proud of our brands and products. Many of our long-term colleagues went through a great deal of change over the years – between the reorganizations under Energizer, and then the split - which took a lot of time and energy across the board. It is understandable why many colleagues felt uneasy in our early days as Edgewell, but I'm hoping that over the past two years we have been able to provide a sense of stability and pride, which should help to leave those things are now far in our rear view. Coming out of our engagement survey, we made some improvements to how we were communicating our long-term vision to colleagues. My team and I have been presenting and reinforcing this strategy using multiple platforms to ensure that it is universally understood. I am sorry that you are no longer with us, but I'm hopeful that these efforts have improved the outlook of our current colleagues.

Pros

Half day Fridays year round, can wear jeans everyday, good brands, generally good people at manager level and below, decent work/life balance

Cons

Leadership out of touch, short term focus, low morale, invisible senior leadership, politics, promoting all the wrong people, poor benefits and getting worse, clear knowledge of low colleague morale and no action to address, slow to act, poor communication, too many layers of management for our size, risk averse, cost cutting driven by ivory tower consultants, and on and on

Thank you for your feedback, and also for being with us for so many years! I’m happy that you enjoy our flextime policy and casual office atmosphere, but am truly disappointed in our ability to engage you in other aspects. As a long-term colleague, you have been through a great deal of change with us – from Energizer reorgs to the split and creation of Edgewell – and I can understand your feelings. As a new organization, we have collected an enormous amount of colleague feedback through engagement surveys and focus groups, and are actively trying to “right any wrongs” that may exist in our culture. We have implemented strategies, following the engagement survey, that have helped to improve focus, morale, leader visibility and communication. It is my hope that you have noticed these positive changes and that your opinion is improving on these topics.
