Pros

Frequent Flyer points on great airlines, Marriott hotel points; you get to work with brilliant, motivated people; the cheap coffee and food at the coffee carts; they give you responsibility early on; they give you a lot of training in the software; a travel laptop

Cons

No management training - I got screwed with a bad boss, and that's not uncommon. Few feedback loops, and how am I supposed to further my career if I don't know what to work on. Long hours - don't try to have a healthy relationship or stay in touch with friends while you work here.

Pros

Great starting salary out of college especially for LIberal Arts students with great GPAs; Tough work, alot of hours prepare you for the "real world" after Epic; amazing food and campus PERFECT job for a year or two

Cons

Employees are taken for granted; high floor, LOW ceiling for salary; CEO and board members are passionate and create a great product but are NOT business minded people who could care less about profit, making money and efficiency; little Work Life balance (madison is too small) This company is too cultish

Pros

+They're hiring and the salary isn't bad for a first job. It's not great either. +They're streamlining/consolidating patient health information, i.e. they're getting hospitals off paper records and patient health information is becoming easier to access and track because of what they do. +They're slowly growing internationally.

Cons

+They overwork you. +Hard to be passionate about doing a good job here. +Travel is never glamorous. +Senior project managers take a hands off approach to new-hires' growth. It was difficult to know what were important takeaways from classes regarding the software configuration, from classes regarding the hospital billing industry, and from customer meetings. +My manager had been at Epic 1 year longer than I had. His perspective was short sighted, and he didn't know how to provide useful advice.
