Pros

Good resume booster! Other employers appreciate it

Cons

No work life balance - you will eventually average 50 hour+ workweeks.

Pros

It was easy to make friends with people in my age, pay was decent

Cons

Everything mentioned in other reviews really help me validate that the time I spent at Epic was some of the worst time in my life. AMs and TLs are frequently dismissive, abusive, and all high on the company kool-aid. My time at the company deteriorated my mental health so greatly that even 6 months after leaving I am still dealing with the residual effects of the stress, unnecessary overworking, and toxicity of management. The lack of diversity, equity, or empathy toward employees is easy to feel after day 1. Everyone is truly out for themselves, especially upper management. Every 1:1, and "feedback session" is just an opportunity for to berate you and add more to your workload, with a thinly veiled offer of reprioritization if needed that will never happen. The only way to succeed in this environment is to suck up to everyone, overwork yourself (60+hours a week), and have no life outside of work. I truly pity anyone that believes this company cares for them or their families.

Pros

Good first job out of college, particularly for those with majors that are a bit more niche/unique. Many of your coworkers will be smart and amazing to work with and some of them will become lifelong friends. A few people in leadership will want you to succeed (whatever that looks like for you) but a few more will be utterly incompetent.

Cons

Work from home policy and work remote policy are garbage. Mismanaged communication (or lack thereof) about changes to processes and structure indicate what little respect is had for employees and how replaceable you are. Your concept of what work/life balance looks like will become warped over time. The non-compete is unethical and difficult to enforce but is a real part of your life.
