Pros

Sometimes you interact with celebrities. MOST I've interacted with are very nice.

Cons

- Management doesn't care about their employees at all. They only care about money. Your mental and physical health will struggle here if this is not your passion. - You will be overworked and underpaid. - I had years of experience, but new hires (and people new to even the food industry) were getting higher starting rates than I did. When I asked for a raise, they told me it wasn't possible. - The "Barista" job title is misleading. This is not a barista gig. You will likely not even be on the coffee bar but forced to make hundreds of Hailey Bieber smoothies for extremely entitled people. - The company seems to have a HUGE ego. It felt like I was working in a cult. - As a woman, I've also had issues being creeped out or treated weird by male employees, as well as customers. I had a problem with a man openly hitting on me despite me telling him I was uncomfortable, and I had to walk off the floor. I let me manager know and he shrugged and said, "That happens. I don't know what to tell you." - There was one manager who constantly called both women employees AND customers "baby". Despite there being a "no pet names" policy, nobody ever said anything. I watched him make a customer uncomfortable and he didn't even notice. - The discounts are not even worth it with how expensive everything is. And this company makes SO MUCH MONEY. It doesn't make sense.

Pros

Co-workers are pretty great, networking

Cons

A company that claims to care about the health and well-being of people, but treats their employees like absolute garbage. Experienced emotional and verbal abuse at the hands of a manager for a year before anything was done about it. Sexual harassment that “corrective training” didn’t even help. Pay employees horribly and expect the world. (I entered in my hourly rate on Glassdoor and it popped up with an error asking if I entered the correct amount as it seemed too low... made me lol! ) Employees can’t even afford to eat the healthy food they sell- you’ll see them eating McDonald’s and Domino’s in back on their breaks. When “hero pay” was announced in LA during the pandemic, they raised all of the prices in the store, and cut their employees hours and laid them off. They only care about making money- could care less about people’s (employees and customers alike) well being. They just know that’s what people in LA are into and it’s a good way to make money- so they pretend to care. I have NO IDEA why there are so many good reviews for this place on here, as every single employee (former and current- at least 30 people at various locations) that I know share the same opinion of Erewhon and their owners. Btw- CEO is the WORST and will literally not even acknowledge the employees in his stores as they are viewed as being beneath him.

Pros

I liked working with different people and teams

Cons

The CEO of the company, Tony Antoci, taxes people mercilessly and forces them to do more than what they agreed to. The work-life blance of most people here is bad. The management can do and should fix it!
