Pros

Good job to get your foot in the door if you need it. If you’re a self-driven person that thrives on honesty, positive collaboration, and respect for your ideas, I would suggest looking elsewhere. Pros: ∙ Learn new skills like client communication and how to stay organized ∙ Co-workers can be fun, but this is cuz they have cool personalities ∙ Amazon gift cards, and sponsored holiday parties ∙ Can speak to the CEO ∙ Starbucks coffee machine ∙ Can work from home

Cons

∙ Patronizing and condescending management ∙Enormous amounts of work with very little support ∙ Sexism and favoritism is at play for new opportunities ∙ Lack of consistency in verbal promises and what’s actually delivered ∙ The cultural principles are not followed by management, and you will receive no real training on how to execute these principles ∙ Egos will get in the way of positive collaboration ∙ Managers talk about you behind closed doors ∙ Promises 24/7 support without the people and processes in place to adequately support this ∙ Outsourcing, which makes training and English communication difficult

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. If you feel comfortable I would like to invite you to reach out for us to have a discussion. We take this type of feedback very seriously and we would like to hear more in order to address them. For example, “sexism and favoritism is at play for new opportunities” is not something we tolerate. We would like to better understand your experience so that we can evolve our open door policy and escalation requirements that we have in place already. Currently, we are doing quite a few things to ensure we are at the forefront of employee engagement. We have hired a People Empowerment Manager to ensure we are widening the feedback loops for our team members and truly living our cultural principles. This will ensure that we have time and resources dedicated to maintaining transparency and two-way communication throughout the organization. We have now had our People Empowerment Manager meet one on one with every team member in the company to elicit feedback and make sure we are on target with our cultural standards and all living our principles. Feedback is very important to me and to our leadership. Our principles, too, are something we are continually looking at as we grow as an organization. I am disappointed to hear that these did not resonate with you, but when I look around the “room” (even on these virtual calls), I don’t notice a lot of ego or condescending managers attempting to micromanage their teams. We recently held a round of peer-led legacy meetings for all of the company (second of five throughout the year) and the feedback we received from moderators was overwhelmingly positive. It would be good to better understand where you think the execution here is missing. I believe that our team is doing a great job of empowering each other and delegating where necessary. We are not perfect for sure, but are striving to be. Finally, I am confused about your two outsourcing statements as they seem to contradict each other. Because we provide industry-leading 24/7 support to global brands, our clients benefit from a global team that can operate in multiple time zones smoothly and efficiently. We see it as an advantage that our team is composed of people from multiple cultures, countries, and customs. That is what makes us different. English, while a central language that can be used as a medium for business, is not everyone’s first language. We value our multilingual team members and their contributions to empowering our team and our clients. I hope you will reach out to me so that we can continue this discussion.

Pros

Coworkers are amazing people. Employer organized community improvement events. Modest health benefits for a startup company. Employer sponsored dinners/events. Beer on tap, bagels and/or donuts provided on Fridays

Cons

The headquarters in Woodland Hills is an open-office environment. The company is a start-up experiencing a few growing pains. “Opportunity for growth” has been a carrot dangled in front of employees that rarely materializes. Here, you’re not “Going for the Gap,” you’re falling into a rut. The company touts transparency, but they also have their support team in the Philippines with “Based in Los Angeles” in their E-mail signature. Other Cons: Extremely political environment. Management openly berating employees. Company principles are more of a “Rules for thee not for me” by middle management Vertical movement within company is nearly impossible. Best you can hope for is a lateral position. Terrible time management by higher ups. Scheduled meetings/reviews will be rescheduled, repeatedly.

We always appreciate feedback as we are constantly attempting to improve. We are surprised at some of your comments as we have made a tremendous effort to accelerate the growth of our people and our business. Our core tenet as a company is Empowering People as evidenced by the many (once) entry-level employees that have been promoted to Vice President, Senior Directors, Directors, Senior Managers, as well as Supervisors and Team Leads. We also have a dedicated People Empowerment Manager whose sole responsibility is engaging with our people to understand their challenges, get feedback, and ensure that senior management is acting on that feedback. With a core principle being "No Egos" - among others - it is unacceptable that any managers "berate" employees and that would not and will never be tolerated. The monthly lunches with senior management and our employees are intended to elicit their feedback about how we can improve. Our CEO and co-founders are accessible to every team member and are actively soliciting feedback. We have scheduled a company-wide meeting where every team member is able to submit any questions they have to ask our CEO in as transparent a format as possible. Even with all our efforts to grow our people professionally and personally, with us providing personalized one-on-one coaching for many of our team members, we cannot assure everyone that they will receive promotions and accelerate through the organization. Much of that is dependent on the individual employee and the growth that we have to sustain to ensure opportunities for all of our people. It seems that you definitely did not experience the growth you hoped for and that is always a good reason to move somewhere else to find that. We are happy to hear you mention the amazing people we have at the company which to some extent must have something to do with our special culture. Great people thrive in our environment. With respect to our transparency, we do not hide our international footprint and openly speak about our distributed teams in The Philippines, India, United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, Canada, Latin America, and offices throughout the United States. We are very proud of our global reach and 24/7 support for some of the biggest and most reputable brands in the world. We recognize that we can't make every employee happy but we really do try to keep open lines of communication and speak openly about us not being the right fit for everyone. Without us sustaining our growth, our ability to find constant upward mobility for our people will be impacted. We live every day trying to create that opportunity for our amazing team members.

Pros

1) Fast Growing Company with many opportunities for growth 2) CEO who invests in company culture. He recognizes as we grow, what unfortunately happens to a lot of companies, the culture begins to dilute. By bringing on and investing in a People Empowerment Manager, this ensures we maintain our company culture through rapid growth. Quarterly Meetings to review our 15 Principles through Legacy by James Kerr. The People Empowerment Manager also conducts 1v1 with the entire company to ensure voices are being heard. 3) The PEOPLE. Everyone at Feedonomics from the top down are the hardest working people I know. I have been fortunate enough to be here for 2+ years and watch our company grow from a 40 person team to 150+ worldwide. It amazes me that we still bring on great talent, truly the best of the best. The growth also is gaining traction and shows no signs of slowing down. 4) No Hypocrisy - Every member of the team will never ask someone to do something that they would not do themselves. This to me shows excellent leadership and leading by example 5) Open door policy for all management up to C level. If something doesn't work or is off, voice it and our team will take the steps to fix it. 6) Constant updates for the LA office with Zen Rooms, Newly Designed Break Room and Game Room. (The Kegerator is quite nice too!) I have worked at a few of the major tech companies in LA that many people have heard of. Companies that started in a kitchen and grew to a corporate powerhouse. What I love about Feedonomics and separates this company from those is that we have tremendous people who are willing to adapt in the fast paced environment and are ALWAYS willing to lend a helping hand. I am really blessed to work with the people I do. Without the people that work at Feedonomics, we would just be another tech company.

Cons

- Work life balance can be difficult at times. But company does strive to take the proper steps to ensure everyone has a great work/life balance - Fast paced environment can be difficult for some. This is what makes me proud of my coworkers in knowing they battle through these times. Only the best can cut it.

Thanks for the feedback! It's evident you took the time to respond here and I'll personally make note of each point. I agree, we fully intend to listen to our people and not be complacent with a "good" environment. Thanks for all you do.
