Pros

-Get to help military families live the life they deserve -You are in control of your schedule -Get paid your worth, you control compensation -Sharing stories and experiences with military families is awesome

Cons

-Pay is not guaranteed but not a concern if you truly care about your/our mission -Humans...they are fascinating. Know they should do "x" but won't because Starbucks. Can only help those who want to be helped! -If interacting with humans is not your thing, may have difficulty

Best company I've ever worked for

Pros

It's not often that you get to work for a company that supports their employees and treats them less like widgets and more like family, but that is what I found at First Command. I spent over 20 years working harder and harder for other financial service companies and was asked to do more and appreciated less each passing year. I've now been at First Command for over 10 years and wish I could have been here so much longer. The fact that we get to serve the military community, especially when they most need us, makes it even more rewarding. Great benefits and recognition programs. Strong ESOP with top notch balance sheet management. Loyal and deserving clients. Overall good pay. Communicative leadership. Investment in professional growth and in growing technology. Training is strong and getting better. Worthwhile mission. Potential to grow as a company/employee is ready to explode right now.

Cons

No company is perfect, but I promise that folks here care and strive to do the right thing by all.

Thank you for your thoughtful review and for being part of the First Command team. We're so glad you’ve found value in our family-oriented culture, competitive benefits, and growth opportunities. Your feedback about increasing veteran representation in corporate roles is critical. As a company deeply rooted in serving the military community, we are committed to expanding pathways for veterans at every level. We appreciate your insight and your voice in that mission.
