Pros
Work is very challenging. The company is growing fast, and builds pretty amazing pieces of technology combining mechanical, electrical, software and material engineers. It's just a short walk from my desk to the shop and the EE benches. My favourite part of working at Formlabs is getting to learn new things in areas that I would usually not come close to. Of course, if you are into 3D printing, you basically have access to a giganormous fleet of SLA printers, as well as tons of people who use them, build them, repair them, sell them, do 3d modelling, cad modelling, sculpting. The team (which has grown from 8 to 90 since I'm here) is fun, intelligent and dedicated. There is catered lunch 3 times a week alongside presentations, as well as a bunch of smaller interest groups (gardening, food, games, sports, ...). Work is very flexible, I can work from home whenever I want, and flexible vacations.
Cons
- there are definite growing pains transitioning from a small team to a bigger company. those mostly seem to have settled nicely in software, where the team has grown from 3 people to 8 with an extended need of communication with other teams. - it's easy to work too hard when you have such freedom and possibilities, and enthusiastic and intelligent coworkers. - most of the people are very young, which might not be your thing. The team could be more diverse.
