Pros

The product is great, there is minimal competition in the market that is easy to beat.

Cons

Sales leadership is inexperienced in an enterprise sales model. They expect a short sales cycle even for large, strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies. They will interfere with and ruin those deals for their reps. They are also determined to alter the quota & commission structures (often multiple times per year) in order to ensure that their sales reps won’t earn too much commission.

Thank you for your feedback. At present, the performance of our sales team is at an all time high and we are celebrating this with our teams! In fact Q1 was our best yet and Q2 is looking even better based on our record breaking month in April. As you know, our sales organization is complex, and we are looking to optimize one strategy at a time. So far we have seen great results from changes on the inbound and channel teams, and there may be opportunity to improve our enterprise sales strategy. We are willing to make bold changes and iterate based on feedback, and sometimes that results in changes to the commission structure. Part of these changes include new opportunities for reps like HPS awards, career ladders, and comp adjustments. We recognize that change can be challenging but we are confident that our model is the path to continued success for our employees and the business. Of course if it does not have the impact we hope for, we’ll make relevant changes.

Pros

Excellent products Smart people Family lunch twice/week

Cons

Salaries are well below the tech industry average. Current goal is to reduce costs significantly to prepare the books for an IPO. There is a massive turnover in the sales department as the culture has changed from visionary to mercenary. The focus is immediate financial gain and short-term results, often at the expense of employee well-being and long-term sustainability. Usually, in a mercenary culture, employees are paid extremely well to deal with the high pressure, however that is not the case here. As people leave, their responsibilities are given to those who remain and the positions are not back filled.

These areas of focus will help us in the long term because our ways of working enable us to make the best products for our customers!
