Pros

All of the Fox concepts make money, they all get busy (especially in AZ), and they are all a good time for the guest. Good food, great atmosphere. That can mean money (tips-wise) for servers and bartenders but not much for anyone else...read on as to why. (Oh also our managers all made good money despite having little to no experience. Truly.

Cons

The vibe at each restaurant and concept is different, but regardless of whether the atmosphere is casual or fine, they look for employees that are good-looking and stylish, not qualified or team-oriented. Genuinely, that means most of your coworkers will be vain, materialistic, egotistic, loud, selfish, and just out to make money. Full of yourself seems to be the way to their heart. Please don't take this as me hating the company; I have no agenda other than to tell you the truth of what you're getting yourself into. I was told this same thing upon interviewing by a manager, then several times over the course of three years I worked for them, each time from upper management and coworkers. They have no corporate structure and no HR oversight. I worked three years and never had contact with HR. They hire and fire willy nilly, and do not care about morale. They don't employ buses/runners most days, so get ready to run bus and expo...even do your own dishes and a ton of sidework. I stayed until finding a better job bc the schedule was flexible and I did well... kept my head down and made money. Made a few good friends too... all of whom have now left for better opportunities. Oh and no benefits offered. Best of luck!

Pros

the food is good and you do learn a lot about the menu and food in general, your peers are awesome people so making friends is easy

Cons

too much stress! They expect too much from one person all the time. Its impossible to do 5 things at once and be perfect doing it. Also there was a chef who was terrible, he verbally abuses anyone he thinks is below him

Pros

- Great company culture - Outstanding reputations for food and service. - Excellent training programs - What you learn in customer service skills is exemplary. I know a lot of other restaurants that would benefit from sending their staff to work at a Fox Concept for a month to learn how to treat guests right. - Availability to transfer between different locations. You get the chance to travel to other states and stay with your familiar concept. Hard if you have a family but great if you're a 25-year-old. - Sam Fox is a visionary and a great person to gather experience from. If you get the opportunity you should take a position with Fox. One of the better concepts I have ever worked for. They retain a good amount of staff for long periods of time. A great place to work for. See cons for why I left.

Cons

- Some work weeks go beyond the 55-hour requirement. I'm sure if you ask any manager they will tell you they have done a 70 hour week there. - Cookie cutter concepts that get sold off to major chains. Hard to grab onto a sense of pride when you know your concept you work for is going to be sold to P.F. Changs or other restaurant groups. - There is no work life balance. For 5 days out of the week you wake up, go to work for 11-15 hours, and you go home to sleep. The position was heavily affecting my family obligations, social life, and physical health. For the right person, this will be a great job but for me, it wasn't. I can't speak for anyone besides myself so you'll just have to find out on your own!
