Pros

Financial possibilities, culture, and leadership opportunity. You are in control of your inputs, work as hard as you’d like to make as much as you want while having the resources you need to reach your goals. I appreciate the team atmosphere, you don’t feel alone in your pursuit. People are more than happy to help without expecting anything in return. If you want a leadership opportunity, then step up and your efforts will not go unnoticed. This job is not for someone who is looking for the easy route, but give it some time and it will be worth it. Stick to the process, be patient and your paychecks will reflect your effort. It’s exciting to be a part of one of the fastest growing companies!

Cons

Office location. 290 can be rough, due to construction and traffic. No explanation needed. Hours- the long hours are not something required of you, however if you are a hard worker, who might be a perfectionist and wants to capitalize on sales opportunities you may work longer hours. However this is on you! I have never been asked to stay past 6pm by any of my bosses. So it’s up to you to manage your own time. Long hours are often a get a bad wrap on sales so understand many choose to work the hours they work. Getting to the office earlier rather than staying late is more commendable at this company, so if you are a morning person this is best case— might not be best fit for someone who prefers to work late hours.

Pros

This company will do everything in it’s power to give you all the coaching and tools you need to make as much money as possible. They will advance you based on your performance and skills, not just your tenure, and you get a pay increase every year with renewal/residual income. They also coach you on how to network and build your business relationships. I joined the military right out of high school, and after I got out I couldn't find a job making decent money. I didn't have a college degree so I wasn't given much opportunity to find a job making more than $18 an hour, which at the time was the best I could get. I got lucky and got a shot at Goosehead through a friend, and 5 years later it’s the best decision I have ever made in my life. In the last 5 years, I have made more money than I did the 6 years after I was out of the military. Was it easy? No. If being rich and successful was easy, then everyone would be. I can't imagine if I started this job at 23 how well off I would be now. If you want a place where you can grow personally and financially, then Goosehead is the place to be. Our company has a leadership training program that grooms you for management.

Cons

Long Hours is about it in the beginning. The first 2 years are the toughest but once you build your network the job gets easier.

This is a career, not a job

Pros

As I mentioned in the title, Goosehead is a career, not a job. The job security in the insurance industry is incredible and at Goosehead it's even stronger. Upper executives are always working to make sure we have every resource at our finger tip to be the best. I am unaware of any sales agent who has made less money from one year to another. The longer you stay with Goosehead the more money you will make as your renewals compound on each other from year to year. This doesn't happen if you're trying to find an easy button to wealth. In fact, there is no easy button to wealth. If you are ready to start a career and not use Goosehead as a platform for something else you will get everything you want and more. Goosehead is a growing company and that means new opportunities pop up all the time. Management knows what everyone's strengths are and will place people in spots they know they will thrive in.

Cons

It's not for everyone. Because this is a career, you have to strap in for the long haul. You do have the ability to start seeing a decent paycheck early on, but the real money ($100K+) for most people might take 3+ years. The way we train and the technology we have is shortening that up quite a bit. You're going to do it all, work long hours, work weekends and have to change your personal plans, but it's all worth it.
