Extremely time consuming during tax season.

Unfocused upper management, who are completely detached from their core product; always chasing rabbits. Ridiculously low pay for the education and time involved: Below the defacto minimum wage of $15/hr, resulting in a generally low level of professionalism.

- Shady upper management - NO BENEFITS - seasonal position and they force every employee to take 2 month unpaid furlough minimum. Generally off season is from April - January - No one cares about or spends money on tax office associates - Super disorganized corperate structure - No clear path to promotion - Since the job is seasonal, employees dont take the position seriously - NO work/life balance.

A lot of cons. Slavery type of environment. They don’t allow you to have days off. They treat you like a robot and expect you to work 7 days a week without any of your personal time. Over charge clients but employees don’t get paid fairly (below minimum wage for entry level). Upper management and experienced employees put pressure on those first year employees and force them to compete with each other. A lot of chitchatting to against specific employees they don’t like. They don’t talk in front of them, but they talk loud enough for them to feel bad about themselves. A lot of cold callings. You also have to put trash away, clean bathrooms, vacuum, and other stuff.

Pay and promotion scale are dismal. When I first was hired, my salary felt fair because they were taking a gamble on someone with less experience. But even after stepping up and going above and beyond my job description and consistently receiving praise from direct- and upper-level management, my salary has barely increased to match inflation over the last two years. I began a raise conversation myself and the process was completely opaque. No conversation or chance for me to negotiate for what I feel I deserve after what I contributed. Block stands in the way of its own employees' advancement and causes them to seek other opportunities, leading to high turnover and chaos in upper management often. Also, the healthcare benefits are a joke. I have a $13,500 deductible. I'd be better off seeking out Medicare.

Sometimes clients can be not so nice. Upper management can be difficult.

Ridiculous asks. Under-staffed. Insincere upper management. No breaks. No meal times. Constantly changing schedules. Starting pay is higher at fast food restaurants and gas stations. Expertise should not be near minimum wage.

Horrible upper management, policies and all around organizational people skills.

Based on some of their policies, upper management does not seem to have an understanding of what goes on in the majority of their locations or knows the company's typical clients and their needs. Some of their software and phone system are poor quality.
