Pros

Great benefits package for the type of work. Provides Flex time that can be used at any time as well as affordable medical and dental and 401k with employer contributions up to 6%. Also provide tuition assistance after 1 year of employment covering up to 90% of tuition. Plenty of opportunity for overtime if desired and starting pay is above what you will find outside the airport.

Cons

Many of the employees have no desire to do even the minimum and often call out leaving the supervisory staff to cover shifts rather than doing their leadership duties. HR makes firing an employee extremely difficult even when legitimate.

Pros

Busy atmosphere, ever changing business. Gain lots of different brand experience, both internal brands and externals brands. Gain experience in operating multiple units and multiple staffs. Competitive pay.

Cons

All weekends and holidays. Company doesn't value time off of work -- constant phone calls on personal cell phone when on personal time. Upper management just worries about upper management. Company expects 10 hour work days from salaried managers which always end up to be 12 hour days. More focused on cutting labor on hourly shift managers and have middle range salary managers pick up their slack because they are "cheaper" to work than hourly managers. Overworked and underpaid. No gratitude for a job well done.

Pros

$12 meal credit good at any HMSHost-operated restaurant, tips, paid holidays, free employee parking, great associates and fellow leads, Medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k options. Easy interview, offered a job on the spot as an associate (but with managerial experience I had to play hardball a little).

Cons

Low pay, disorganized management, very high turnover, improper staffing for business needs, little recognition for exceptional service, limited advancement opportunity with a long wait for it to actually happen. Management has no Starbucks experience, making it difficult to run multiple stores to operational standards and no rush to fix broken equipment. I left because of the turnover and lack of recognition. Training sucks because there's not enough staff to give trainees adequate attention, and you can wait months to be certified, which means no tips until then.
