They had a good benefits package and provided very good training for their employees. Free food was always a plus

Cons

Made to work too many hours. instead of 10 hours a day it was more like 13 with no extra compensation. WHen broken down, hourly employees made more then the management.

Pros

Large, multinational corporation means the paychecks always cash. Systems in place for branded concepts make management a simpler, less error prone process. Pay is competitive with similar establishments. Large company also makes for more expansion and promotion opportunities

Cons

Ups and downs with the ebbs and flows of travel industry. No way to drive business further to new audiences. Corporate may be a little too big for their own good at this point, ignoring concerns on the local level more often than not, and causing a watering down of talent on the management level, as it seems sometimes they just need warm bodies to fill well paying positions

Pros

There are many advancement opportunities. Employees frequently start in one position and then move in to another withing 6 months to year. You will also receive a lot of cross training in other departments that can be invaluable later. If you move in to mid-level management there is a lot of opportunity to make a decent salary. This doesn't happen unless you move in to an FLSA exempt-salaried role. Otherwise you're going to have to scrape by on an average 3 percent increase each year. Hourly employees are not highly valued and turnover can be high in some locations.

Cons

Poor, expensive benefits. Because it is service industry you will always work weekends.
