Pros

Very comfortable work environment, Lots of room to grow, Discount on products, Options to bring your dog to work, and Co workers are great. Also, management is wonderful. I have a disability and everyone is understanding, encouraging, supportive, and kind. I feel super comfortable working here and have no complaints.

Cons

The office dog doesn't say good morning sometimes.

Not Worth It

Pros

I was given a lot of responsibilities. The co-workers I met at the associate level were easy-going and fun to work with. I respect the company's desire to educate pet parents on best practices to care for their pet.

Cons

No PTO (in the first year) or sick days. Pay is deducted for appointments or conflicts in schedule even if you are a salaried employee. No flexibility in your workweek schedule, hours do not vary. No compensation for overtime hours or working weekends. No training provided. Work is kept separate from one another and collaboration is prohibited. Conversation with co-workers is prohibited. A depressing work environment; you work in tall cubicles with limited sunlight and are separated from co-workers to discourage talking. High turnover. The owner has yelled, used inappropriate language and laughed at employees. Projects are micromanaged. Concerns and suggestions for improvement are not welcomed. Because of this, a strong "Us versus Them" mentality is created. It was hard for me to maintain motivation in this type of environment.

Graphic Designer

Pros

The products this company sells really are great products and they truly believe in the well being for pets. This small, mother and daughter run company is very passionate in what they do and I have used the products on my dog and have recommended it to family and friends. For a designer right out of school, I was given a lot of responsibility and was able to work on many different kinds of project. My initial expectation was to focus on web design, but spent most of my time on traditional graphic design such as print, packaging, and marketing. Benefits: Dental, 401k, free dog food for employees, and you can take your dog to work

Cons

No PTO for 1 year (then only 5 days at year mark) No health insurance. Although the hours of 8:00-4:30 are very reasonable, there is limited flexibility to change those hours if needed. Pretty rigid culture as employees were not encouraged to collaborate or talk to coworkers during business hours. They seem to have a high turnaround rate. Many employees stayed less than a year.
