The list goes on forever..
- worked holidays ( INCLUDING CHRISTMAS ) for holiday pay ( IF you’re full time ) which, seems more unfair to me in all aspects. In all regions. In all districts. UNFAIR. If you are REQUIRING stores to be open and employees to work holidays, EACH and EVERYONE on the clock should get holiday pay. Within that as a whole statement the actual base pay? Trash. For all the things we are required to do & they want that for minimum wage.
Hibbett doesn’t pay enough nor do they care enough about their employees for what we deal with on a day to day basis.
- depending on location / “demographic “ area you get certain things. They SET store up to fail with the product in the store. Some product has been sitting in some store for FOREVER and is STILL not selling.. But want you to meet your goals EVERYDAY and complain when you don’t but then give other stores EVERYTHING to hit goals. Hit store bonus. Hit and win every contest. “ you have to actually sell it to get better product” but then never even gives anyone the chance to get anything. I guess it all boils down to being fair like certain stores in every district do AMAZING in numbers year round cause they get all the new & popular items, i get it diverse it to fashion stores and athletic stores seems fair but what’s not fair is making certain locations the opposite of what their customers are like. Why put a athletic store in a urban area where fashion is the key focus ? Or vise versa? Setting the location up for failure if you ask me. Corporate wants to make all the money they can over any and every little thing but set some stores up to fail on purpose and then complain about numbers not being where they should be??
- harassment from not only customers but higher ups they ask & require VERY much from you for LITTLE pay.
Getting the minimum base pay for customers to throw things at you. Cuss and be disrespectful to you, call you racial slurs, destroy your store out of anger when they don’t get what they want when you follow policy.
( then when you follow policy they [corp/ help desk] tells you the OPPOSITE of policy to make the customer happy ) is that fair? Nope. do they do it anyways? Yep.
- nagging, NAGGING, NAGGING, NAGGING all you ever hear from DSM’s because corporate is ALWAYS changing something. Nothing is ever good enough. Nothing is ever just set in stone EVER. One minute they change this or do this and that and then the next minute they are ADDING to your plate feels like EVERY DAY it is something NEW or ADDED.
- nothing ever gets fixed. Air doesn’t work? Wont get fixed. Toilets clogged or won’t work? Wont get fixed. Water fountains don’t work or the water isn’t clean? Wont get fixed. I can count MULTIPLE times I’ve come out of pocket for my staff and things we have needed for the store for BASIC necessities: toilet paper, soap, paper towels, cleaner for counters / bathroom, A BROOM&MOP.
- DSM’s / corporate are not in stores 24/7 like the staff are. WE know what our customers want, we know what will sell at our location. Do they ever “ test run “ or send a size run of a product to see? NO.
- dress code “ you can wear it if we sell it “ okay, seems fair?…. NOPE. They pick and choose what we sell that you can wear. leggings? Nope. Crocs? Nope. Tank tops? Nope. Shorts? Nope. ( if they come to your knees like are we living in the 1950’s?? ) you have to look “professional” like you work there, RIGHT so if you’re an athletic store why can’t you wear leggings? If you’re a fashion store, why can’t you wear “fashion styled clothes”? Doesn’t make sense.
- the music that plays in the stores is cacophony. ( if you work for hibbett now you know what I’m talking about)
THE SAME what? 9-12 songs EVERYDAY ALL DAY LONG.
I can keep going .. but I’ll stop here for now.
