The bad reviews are true!

Pros

Nice benefits to stay at Hilton and HGV properties at low cost and work from home opportunities. Interesting work.

Cons

The micromanagement is BAD! I have never had worse managers in my entire career than while at HGV. They don't trust employees to do their jobs, focus on the wrong things when it comes to work, literally put you down and degrade you in meetings and make false claims about your work and efforts. Unfortunately these bad management practices span multiple levels. There are many people in the company that only got their job due to seniority or favoritism and nothing to do with the ability to actually manage people. Managers are supposed to lift up their employees, support them and assist in putting forth a team effort for the same purpose, however many are worried about ridiculous and super minor concerns over different ways that people work instead of a focus on getting the work done. Such a shame because there was a lot of good potential at the company and great ways to improve the products and industry but the management has just ruined it. Several other direct co-workers also had the same views, so it wasn't just my experience and the employee survey results showed this. Believe the other reviews!

Private to Public is a far cry

Pros

Great Brand name Good Benefits Good work life balance Some of the co workers are a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Timeshare business. It is a highly volatile industry and the sales are reaching a peak. It will be very difficult ( as it is now) to sell timeshares in future. There are too many people on the top tier who should not be or do not deserve to be in that level. Very political environment with highly immature people in leadership positions leading to frustration among reports.

Pros

Good benefits, paid time off, good coworkers.

Cons

New Management makes a hostile and depressing work environment. Horrible work ethic, a complete pipe dream. It all starts by selling you the idea of making 70k a year when the average is more like 18-25k and that's a overstatement for the average to above average seller. Training is nothing like actually selling on the call center floor and most agents do not last past the 90 day probation period.
