Pros

I can honestly say this is THE best company I have worked from both from a Customer and people focus. Bags of opportunity and challenging parts of the job which make it really rewarding. Homeserve quickly recognise hardwork whcih is completely supported (and initiated) by the exec team who are all so tuned in to the strategy and firmly believe that if you focus on people, everything else will follow. I am totally empowered to do the right thing and empowered to empower also. The CEO and COO and Customer Director and their teams are doing a very very good job and should be proud of the achievements so far. A 20 pc point uplift in engagement score in one year!

Cons

Not a con for me but would be if you were not this kind of person. Homeserve reward hard working, Customer focussed individuals who display real passion to work in an environment where doing the right thing, trusting each other (at ALL levels), owning situations and not just moaning but doing something about the issues and daring to care. If you're not willing to do this all of the time as a minimum then you'd hate it here!

Pros

Lot of things to do. Dynamic and a good focus on customers. Different In a good way. Lots of change and focus on improvement. Going in the right direction and could be absolutely the best company to work for. Not stuffy and routine. Every day is a surprise. It sees that value in treating employees well. I fully support the plan and the idea behind what Homeserve wants to be. There is a real chance it will get there and it is not that far away already. Definitely worth having on the cv.

Cons

40 hr week (a lot for a fs company), and if you are a middle tier manager you tend to work more hours, just to keep up with your basic admin and housekeeping tasks. There is no time for reflection, you are juggling multiple projects simultaneously and are on to the next thing straight away. There is a lot of `heads of something and directors of something` who keep appearing, so keeping up can be hard and they are all pulling on the same few key people's time. Head of and Director of is a bit of an exclusive club that few (if any?) people get into from within.

Pros

I am proud to say that I work for a company that not only does the right thing by its customers but also for its people. Throughout my time at HomeServe (coming up to 5 years), I have been given the platform and support needed to succeed in my own career aspirations and as a result I have progressed internally within the Company. Especially in the last couple of years, I have seen a culture of empowering staff to make the right decisions and trusting in what we do. As a result we trust our leadership team and know exactly what we are all aiming to achieve. The company is growing from strength to strength and I am excited to be part of the future.

Cons

Historical perceptions of the HomeServe brand due to bad press, however this just proves what a greater journey we have come on.
