Pros

- Fun place to work - Weekly 121's with manager to ensure you can talk about your concerns - A lot of focus on recognition of staff as well as customer - Mentor programme - Free car park - Free staff policy - Eating facilities on site

Cons

- Career progression is difficult unless you know the right people and they know you - Not many opportunities to attend training/courses to develop your skills - Old and slow systems - PeopleServe (benefits programme) has good intentions but can be too much of a fuss and a lengthy process

Thanks for posting a review and for pointing out some of the benefits to working at HomeServe. I'm sorry to read your thoughts on career progression. There is a lot of opportunity at HomeServe including management training. We circulate an email monthly, highlighting career moves and promotions and actively encourage people to develop their skills alongside our Learning department. As for events, we hold all-company cascades, a summer fair, Halloween fun fair, drive in cinema, comic relief call-centre, bake offs and monthly stand-ups, I'm not sure there's much more we could do! Thanks for the feedback regarding slow systems, this is difficult to raise without further information. If you're happy to get in touch, please email heretohelp@homeserve.com.

Pros

Yearly employee engagement survey. Front line staff are valued. The big boys come down to each office and let us know what's going on every 6 months. Cascades are really important to us and it's my fav time of year. What other company allows their entire work force to be come away from their day job for 3+ hours, at different times, paid to listen to updates, stories and upcoming events?! Charter Tuesdays are informative. The ask Martin sessions were incredibly helpful, we were able to be open and honest and Martin listened to our stresses and put actions in place to change it - more engineers, more tools and equipment etc. Martin is one of my favourite people in this company, we have only interacted on a few occasions but he's happy to talk to us. He enjoys listening about our days and what we've been up to since the last interaction. For a CEO to interact with the front line staff is incredible. He doesn't shy away in an office when he visits different sites. He goes out onto the floor and speaks to us as if we are just as important as him.

Cons

30 minute lunch. A certain offices canteen facilities aren't great. If the face fits you're looked after, if not, you're not really thought about. It's slowly changing but to a degree, it's still an issue.

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We put a lot of effort into communication; we know we can’t succeed unless we’re all moving in the same direction so I’m glad you find all of the thing things you mentioned – Cascades and Charter Tuesdays – so useful. I also think Martin is great – he takes a great deal of personal satisfaction from getting out into the business and meeting as many People as possible. That’s why his ‘Big Conversations’ are still going strong. Martin’s done over 65 of these now - including 12 in Banbury - and spoken to 800 People. He gained a lot of great feedback from his last Big Conversation in Banbury a few months ago and is looking forward to the next one which will be coming up after the Cascades. If you drop my team an email they’ll make sure you are in the next group in Banbury. Paul
