No work/life balance as an engineer

Pros

Fully stocked van, latest tools/equipment iPad etc. Company is growing daily and future looks bright.

Cons

No work/life balance for the engineers, silly shift patterns and long working hours often late nights. The new ECS bonus scheme is terrible and impossible to hit your targets due to long travel rebooked jobs, reattends and unrealistic expectations which leads to bad behaviours as engineers just want to get it done quickly as possible with no care and get out. Homeserve can't retain their engineers and have a high turn around rate and always have done. Would only consider working here short term.

Pros

Transparent Strong leadership People Centric culture Rewards are incredible 1-2-1s with senior directors Entrepreneurial work ethic A workplace where a culture is lived, rather than just being a plaque on the wall.

Cons

Getting to and from HomeServe in Walsall is a bit of a headache. Traffic in rush hour means you have to plan accordingly to get in/out of work. Public transport links are OK, but suffer with the same problem.

Pros

It's an absolute delight to work at HomeServe. I started my training 3 weeks ago and officially started my role today and can honestly say that our training prepared us really well for my role. I had a fantastic trainer called Pete who hand on heart is the best trainer that I have ever had, considering I have been in quite a few jobs. I am really enjoying my role and have had lots of support from various people whilst working on the phones. My manager is also really helpful and is willing to help us whenever we ask him to

Cons

Have only been here for 3 weeks therefore do not have anything bad to say about homeserve and probably will not have anything anytime soon
