Pros

I would only recommend working at IPG Photonics if you are at the end of your rope and can't find a job anywhere else. The only pros of working at IPG is that their stock is high and they give you a bonus and raise every year.

Cons

Culture is odd and management is the pits! HR is inept. Lots of discourteous people and no morale. The Oxford office is in the middle of nowhere. The Marlboro office and has zero community and low energy.. No self-respecting person would want to work there. The company does not have annual reviews; therefore, the majority of employees are disengaged with their jobs because of lack of feedback.

Pros

If you are talented at back stabbing and glory hounding, you should work at IPG.These qualities are thriving there. They make laser weapons, how inspiring.

Cons

When the Russian based company IPG did not fire but put respected American Managers in dead end jobs, the tone was set, soon all building managers told to learn Russian language to keep their jobs. Started hiring Russians that were related to or friends of other Russians already there. As this continued, the quality of life, the quality of work all went down hill for everyone. Trying to make a decent wage is impossible also. They will offer you much less than you were previously making. An interview is probably the biggest mistake, just walk out and work at any other job and be much happier anywhere else!

Pros

Paid holiday schedule Sometimes had a food truck, which was good because there is no food service in the "World Headquarters" cafeyeria. Just vending machines. Not very impressive for a high-tech manufacturing company.

Cons

Parking major issue. Workers have to drive around and around finding a space. Talk of expanding but nothing done. Having enough parking for employees and visitors is basic business 101. Yet, VPs and CEO have a big show with their reserved spaces (usually empty) at the front entrance. Very bizarre show of hierarchy. Systems/technology very outdated and under utilized. Use of automation is even discouraged. Dated system of needing paper signatures and manual forms. Overall a tribal knowdge is King. No one except maybe a long tenured employee can explain why things are the way they are. A lot of CYA saving of emails and cya was encouraged by managers. Also, uncalled for verbal outbursts by "high level" managers to lowered level workers. Male dominated management/ VP levels emphasizes little to no diversity in the company. Big aversion by upper management to have trainings and group meetings. They consider it a waste of time you could be on the floor working. Very, very strange company style is all I can say about it. Would not recommend to anyone.
