Thank you for your review. It’s great that you mention our smart and capable employees. We agree, we hire some of the best and brightest people to work at InStride. We also know that in order for those great people to stick around, employers must demonstrate their appreciation, so we make it a point to celebrate victories whenever possible. We’re happy you mentioned our Step Forward program, where InStride employees have access to online courses from our academic partners. InStride’s mission is to enable employers to offer high-quality education programs to their employees at no cost to the employee, so we offer the same opportunity to our own employees. We hope all of our employees are able to take advantage of the access to education to polish their skills, learn new ones, or even earn a certificate or degree.

Weak leadership

Pros

Decent WLB, competitive salary is also a plus.

Cons

It's run by a clique of ex-Disney execs. If you are part of the clique you have visibility otherwise none. Most of the leadership does not experience in startups, so they mostly just fumble along. Technical knowledge of leaders is also poor.

Thank you for your review. The leaders of InStride work hard to ensure our employees feel empowered to pursue both their professional and personal passions, so we’re pleased to hear you appreciated InStride’s efforts to support a healthy work-life balance. We are disappointed to hear you felt some things were lacking, but appreciate you sharing your experience and will work on making sure every InStrider feels they are seen and their contributions are valued.

Thank you for your review! We’re glad you feel welcomed by your colleagues. We think our InStriders are pretty smart and kind, too. Your feedback about communication and decision-making protocols being confusing for new hires is an important issue we’ll bring up with InStride’s leadership team. You're right that start-up culture can be a lot, and with everyone working remotely, it can make it even harder to understand the process for how to do things when you’re new to a company. All the more reason for InStride to make a more concerted effort to ensure processes and protocols are made explicit and are easy to find. Thank you!
