When I was hired I loved this company. It seriously was like a dream. People were supportive, eager to try new ideas, and so very welcoming. They fully embraced the company core values and it was one big family. We were doing great work and meeting our goals. They would send us random gifts like gift cards, snack boxes, one day coffee and my favorite snack showed up at my door courtesy of my boss. They took every worker and their family on beach weekend. It was amazing.
Then there was an upper management upheaval in early 2025. Several managers were laid off, one quit, and then larger layoffs started happening. Suddenly, no one felt safe or steady. The original core values seem to have disappeared entirely from the lexicon (when were they removed from the website??) to be replaced by radical candor, which seems to be some kind of humiliation tactic. Oh and the consultants. So.many.consultants. We all should have known we were in trouble when the agile consultants couldn't even explain how this process would be implemented. They answered every question with, "Let me ask you this, why are you doing that?" Because it's literally my job?
The culture that was once so welcoming has turned completely fear-based. People who once loved their jobs are now just trying to make it to the end of the day. It's incredibly sad. So many really talented people were let go with little to no reasoning behind it.
The Jackrabbit I was hired at embraced change. The general feeling was, "Let's try it and see!" People were excited to do new things. So I really question the motives of someone claiming that employee dissatisfaction is tied to the new company focus on agility and performance. It also speaks to the larger issue of employee/management relations that instead of looking at their own behavior and how it is affecting the employees, that they turn it around on the employees alleged unwillingness to change.
This used to be an amazing place to work and it's truly shocking how in such a short period of time it's become unraveled.
