I love teaching, I always will -- and despite the ABSURD amount of red tape that comes between the teacher-student relationship in JPPSS, the kids in this district are spectacular.

Cons

Some leadership "opportunities" (a.k.a. -- extra work for teachers who receive little to no compensation in return) are available only to *certain* teachers at *certain* schools.

More work than time to do it, work keeps increasing with no more time added/no more pay added No assistance with difficult students Lessons are scripted, no time need to be creative No math books Reading lessons do not require students to read

Getting to teach middle school students was incredibly rewarding at times. You definitely have a chance to make an impact in their learning.

Cons

Central Office doesn't seem to care all that much about their employees. Too much bureaucracy.
