Pros
The office may be cramped and decidedly no frills, but the energy is crackling. JUUL is on a mission to eliminate cigarettes, taking on big tobacco with Bay Area savvy, design and engineering chops. The product has taken off and the company is scaling up fast.
I've never worked with a more diverse group of roles that play an important role in the health of a company, including designers, electrical engineers, hardware engineers, software developers, PMs, supply chain, quality systems, legal/regulatory, creative marketers, health experts and scientists to name a subset. The interaction is consistently interesting and the people are top notch.
People work hard and a lot is expected from everyone, yet the atmosphere isn't competitive or overtly political. I'm surrounded by interesting, nice and kind people and that makes me look forward to coming in every day.
Cons
Scaling at breakneck pace is hard. Quarters are cramped and you'll find yourself getting booted out of conference rooms because there are only a handful (the company should be moving to nice new offices later in the year).
The hours can be long, partly because teams aren't adequately resourced for the growth. The company is hiring at a breakneck pace to address this.
There also isn't a lot of structure, so you need to be self directed and be able to deal with plenty of ambiguity.
