Pros

Great coworkers, managers that are eager to develop employees, and lots of free food. They are really working to make sure employees have enough time outside of work to get things done. Kellogg tries very hard to match their actions to what their views are and sometimes they succeed. Pay is on the higher end of the pay scale but they sometimes make you come in at a lower level to "gain experience".

Cons

Battle Creek and the surrounding area are no place for someone unmarried and/or without children and offer few jobs for spouses of those who are married. The Kalamazoo area has gotten a little better in the last few years but not to the point of being able to hold on to top talent. Everything is a drive and the towns basically shut down during the winter. Unless you love hunting, fishing, or farming there isn't much year-round fun to be had. On top of this a massive reorganization is happening (plant closings, consolidating jobs, etc.) and everyone is on edge. There was a large population of folks that had been with Kellogg for 25+ years when I first started but this reorg is either convincing them to retire or forcing them to causing a rather large brain drain across the company.

Pros

I loved the challenge and passion I had for all my accounts and teammates. The benefits and pay were very nice. I loved that I was #1 out of 2 district that hit my annual budget. I had a base salary + bonus and was given a company car for business and personal use. The insurance they carry is great.

Cons

It was humanly impossible to have work/life balance. I had to work at least 12-18 hours a day due to labor being cut. I had 23 accounts that I could not service every acct. properly. When I went out for surgery and came back with no restrictions, I was terminated. This is were Kellogg lost all my respect. I was dedicated employee that was the #1 sales rep. 90% of my time with this company.

Pros

The only pro's working at this company is that you are out in the field, you get a pay check, and a company car in question, and benefits.

Cons

There are so many cons working with this company that I would rather walk through a land mine field. The Upper Management is always looking for negatives. Middle Management does not follow through as well. God forbid if you have constructive criticism on how to make change for the better - they look at it as negative and will write that on your review. They preach work, life, balance, but it doe s not happen. You might have better luck in a turkish prison. They can never make decisions in a timely manner. They work you to death, and are never satisfied with your achievements you accomplish. If you never want a life, be stressed out all the time, work weekends, and never want to see your family again, then work at Kellogg. I could write a book on why you should not work at this company. If you don't believe me ask anyone that does this job.
