Pros

Work/life balance is generally pretty good. For the most part you do meaningful work. Free weekly foodtruck lunches and everyone is well mannered and cares about each other.

Cons

Koalafi is your typical corporate culture just on a smaller scale. Fairly typical csuite who all move in lockstep. Limited career growth unless you know someone and are a yes man. Comp is well below industry averages and there's almost an unspoken understanding that you should take less money because your working for a startup. This would make sense if the c-suite and their entourage werent the ones making all the decisions. Medical benefits are poor. Employers are being asked to come into the office once covid is over. Based on the recent turn-over, I have strong reason to believe that people are leaving and deciding not to post glassdoor reviews. There's a disconect between the number of employees who are leaving (droves of them) and all the positive reviews. It doesnt add up.

We are disappointed to read that your feedback on Koalafi was not satisfactory. However, we do appreciate the input so that we may inspect our internal operations and identify any areas for improvement. We are focused on ensuring our staff is provided the best experience while here - from amenities to meaningful/value add work (as you mention). We continuously review our compensation and benefit structure to ensure we are paying competitively and fairly.

Pros

Great skills that are transferable. If you need experience get it here.

Cons

Awful work life balance, management does not care, open door policy but when you speak your mind there is a target on your back, pay is awful-negotiate better for yourself because they will and do underpay. You start to question your sanity at one point, no need to stay here longer than 6 months. If you are loud enough they will listen and then find a reason to fire you.

We have a high bar for quality and individual associate performance and strong performers are highly compensated for their contributions. We have multiple channels for feedback to include anonymous channels to ensure our folks are heard and we have a strict no retaliation policy. Pros

Good time off is about all the Pros there was.

Cons

No training AT ALL Want you to hit a GOAL without TRAINING YOU. Sales Mangers were not helpful in anyway, tell you to figure it out to reach the magic number for getting your term sheet which you have no control over. Farmers are not held to the same standards to which it's there job to get the store you signed up to run the term sheets??!!??? The Department Manager is a tool and very passive aggressive...

We’re proud that we’ve driven stellar results on dealer, associate, and investor satisfaction. We’re also proud to have achieved a number of awards (great place to work, #65 on INC 5000, #2 on Fast 500 in Virginia). We pride ourselves on creating a place that is great to work for high performing associates but that may be uncomfortable for associates that aren’t willing or capable of high performance. To your lawsuit reference, if an associate commits fraud and is unwilling to make restitution we reserve the right to follow up via the legal system. - Rob Finnegan, CEO and Co-founder
