Pros

Some of the nicest people I've ever worked with who care about making a difference in patients health. The owner is very generous, a bonus, holiday gift cards, very good benefits. Learned a lot about medical device space.

Cons

Your mileage here will vary based on who you are, who you work for, and if you are part of "boys club". -If you are an SME, you won't be respected or even treated like one -Be prepared to put in uncomfortable situations way above your pay grade, lack of management accountability -In some departments the culture is absolutely toxic -Training is underdeveloped- not a lot of room for promotion or growth unless they decide to create an entirely new position -Work life varies based on your position The COVID pandemic was handled very poorly, during an already stressful time, rumors swirled about lay offs and were denied, and then, employees were blindsided, and led out like a military operation. Communication was very inconsistent and varied between managers and departments during the time we worked from home. It also killed employee morale to get emails stating that we better actually be working while we were home, you have no trust in your employees. The severance given was a complete embarrassment and laughable.

Pros

Benefits are pretty amazing comparatively. Despite their flaws, the owners are very generous. Some departments are great, so if you wind up in a good one, you're golden.

Cons

Every department is different. There is no one company culture. At times, it feels like upper management intentionally sets up their departments to be adversarial with the rest of the company. It is not unusual to get caught in the middle of an ego contest between two or more directors when you're just trying to do your job. Also, if you wind up in the Operations/Discovery/Engineering building, you're going to have a bad time. The reasons why have been stated numerous times: the owner. Walking between the buildings is like visiting two different companies.

Pros

There are lot of good people doing hard work creating novel products to help patients. The good side DOES NOT OUTWEIGH THE BAD

Cons

Verbal abuse from the owner. No communications. Priorities would change almost hourly. Business decisions were schizophrenic. Owner would rant that no one but him was working hard enough. People’s jobs were constantly threatened. Time off is provided, using it is strongly discouraged. Words cannot adequately describe what an unpleasant organization LSI was to work for. Unless you are in desperate need of a job, stay far away from LSI.
