Bloated, mismanaged, and getting worse every day

Pros

The coworkers are the only reason I have stayed.

Cons

The project management "department" is incapable of managing projects. They decide their own priorities, not taking into account other work people need to do. They make disparaging comments to the overworked employees who don't meet their impossible deadlines and talk to everyone like they are school children. Executive-level management is a revolving door of ineffective and incompetent people. The average tenure for C-suite executives is about 6 months. In that time, they will join, talk about how they'll make everything better, start an ambitious project, then leave. That leaves partially completed projects left with low employees to clean up (see above, project management does not manage projects). C-suite, VP, and Director level management does not know what is going on at the company. Some just walk in circles around the building for most of the day. They don't understand the jobs that people are doing or the difficulties that we face. When issues are brought up in meetings, we are told that we're being too negative and should be bringing solutions to the table, instead of problems. If a solution to a critical problem requires any delay to production, it will not be implemented. The company is rife with consultants. The solution for any problem is to spend huge amounts of money on consultants who then turn to existing employees to do their work. The company laid off ~15% of the workforce at the beginning of the year, but never stopped flying in consultants from across the country every week. The benefits used to be better, but they have made the benefits worse every year to save money. They changed from "unlimited" PTO for salaried employees to an accrual system. Part of this change was giving employees a lump sum of vacation time when accrual started, which they later told us will expire at the end of the year. The best employees are pushed out of the company. Departments will identify the few employees who do good work and give them all of the work. That makes employees burn out at an incredible rate, and all we're left with are the employees who don't have better job offers.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed and candid feedback. We are glad to hear that your coworkers have been a positive aspect of your experience. Building a strong, supportive team is something we value deeply. However, we are deeply concerned about the significant issues you’ve raised, and we want to address them. We acknowledge the concerns about the project management process, leadership stability, and communication. These are critical areas we acknowledge your concerns for improvement. Your feedback about employee workload, consultant reliance, and changes to benefits highlights areas where we need to reflect. Burnout and dissatisfaction are not the outcomes we strive for, and we are committed to evaluating how we can better support our employees, prioritize their well-being, and recognize their contributions. The advice you’ve provided is invaluable, and we take it seriously. We aim to foster an environment where employees feel heard, empowered, and supported. Thank you for your transparency and for helping us understand where we can do better. If you would like to provide further details or continue this discussion, we would welcome the opportunity to connect directly.

Pros

Pay was always on time.

Cons

Working here is like being in prison. Everyone is trying to protect their own jobs so will stab you in the back if they can. The co.pany has a very high turn over for a reason.
