Pros

Great colleagues, working with children around is always rewarding, nice offices, decent holiday allowance, management sympathetic to staff having personal lives!

Cons

All centers are run very formulaically which leaves little to no room for contributing any personal initiative. Job growth opportunities tend to be patronizing in their unimportance. As a result staff quickly become bored and disenchanted. When ideas are proposed for changes to practices, they are usually dismissed because they aren't "by design". Recommendations for students and general ethos can have a pretty pushy sales feel, despite this being spun the other way around by internal marketing.

Pros

Get to work with kids, learn and instruct great techniques for education. great locations, and a well organized system for accessing materials

Cons

Very little regard for the clinicians' experience. Politicky, small company. Sometimes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and it is essential to tow the company line no matter how it does not fit the individual. You must really regurgitate how these "techniques are magic" and they cure learning disabilities. Um no. You often have to work with kids that are totally discouraged and require the kindness and skill of a sensitive clinician to get them to put the work in. Period. That's the real magic.

Pros

Working with amazing children and helping them to learn, and hearing feedback from parents of children for whom the program worked.

Cons

The management at this company is almost exclusvely concerned with net profit. As a result, employee training, quality assurance, and the espoused corporate culture all fall by the wayside to pack students into their centers and seasonal locations. Honest communication with senior management is not fostered or encouraged.
