Pros

Thorough onboarding and mentorship: I felt fully supported from day one, especially by the Center Director, who provided hands-on training and ongoing guidance. Real work-life balance: Flex time is unlimited as long as you meet your responsibilities. It's one of the few places where flexibility is actually honored. Reasonable caseloads: Client cap is 10, but most BCBAs have 8 or fewer. You're encouraged to keep a balanced schedule. No billable pressure: Salary is not based on billable hours, which takes off so much stress. You're paid consistently regardless of temporary fluctuations in client hours. Bonus opportunities: If you meet the target of 5 client-facing hours a day (which includes supervision, assessments, and parent meetings), you qualify for a quarterly bonus. Great team culture: We have regular team events and a genuine sense of community. Everyone is collaborative and respectful.

Cons

Like any clinical setting, days can be busy, and sometimes hectic. The support and structure of this center make it manageable and meaningful.

Pros

Helping children that really need it. Creating close knit relationships with teammates. Higher pay than most companies. Center-based (no traveling)

Cons

Poor management. Employees that don't do their job aren't held accountable. Terrible PTO plan. The pay is not worth how much work you put in. Most of the senior team is extremely unsupportive, even when experiencing high levels of aggression from your clients. The schedule is very inconsistent.

Pros

When working there you are guaranteed 30 hours a week. It is center-based so you don’t have to travel from client to client and you don’t have to worry about support for behavior management and materials needed for your center.

Cons

The center director and office manager micromanage a lot with multiple meetings and check-ups, and constant changes in policies. The OM is always swinging the doors open and never walks in or says anything (that messes with my nerves). The schedule is also very rigid. You aren’t allowed to request time off less than 4 weeks in advance however, they can change your schedule at least 5 times a week and on the day of too. This is not the type of job for anyone who is in school and can’t take night classes, has to take time off for doctor appointments, and other life responsibilities.
