Pros

This is an excellent entry level job to land out of college. The environment encourages innovation + drive and you are constantly surrounded by a great group of people. The workflow will keep you busy while allowing for leisure, depending on department. There is a community sense projected to the employee base that encourages collaboration.

Cons

Pay is below market across the board. Competition within the industry is increasingly fierce. This, factored with a sense of financial instability within, creates an uneasy environment for workers looking to get ahead professionally. Promotions are often not determined by merit, but instead departmental favoritism or politics. Workers outside of sales that go beyond are sometimes overlooked in annual assessments because of prevalence of the above factors.

Thank you for the feedback. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the people and the environment. We have an excellent training program that teaches digital marketing to those with little to no experience. I’m not sure about your specific case, but I’m seeing our entry level pay being compared to positions that require multiple years of experience. We are constantly evaluating ways to increase earnings in a responsible way. We are rolling out tiered pay models for our product teams, which should remedy several of the points you mentioned. There have been multiple promotions in the past few weeks / months and I will investigate the qualitative and quantitative factors that led to recent promotions and make adjustments to that process if necessary. Thank you again for the feedback and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Mike W.

Pros

None. Can’t think of one thing

Cons

Poor management, high turnover/churn and burn, low pay, not even slightly worth the time they expect you to put in to make a livable wage. The base pay is $14 an hour (less than minimum wage in some places) and you’re selling a product that tons of other companies do better. Over saturated market, company looks at you as replaceable bodies. They try to make it sound more appealing by offering promotions that offer you $1 an hour more. They will try to sell you on the fact that you can make “a lot of money” but working 10 hours a day to make $40k-45k should be criminal Simply put, you’re better off taking just about any other job than this. Retail, driving Uber, literally anything.

I’m sorry to hear that sales wasn’t a great fit. Our team works 8 hours per day, and although we offer a competitive hourly base, commission is designed to make up the bulk of the check. Not everyone is successful in this role, but on average, our sales people are selling more than ever, many earning well into the 6-figures. This is a result of LP’s outstanding track record for performance and customer service. This entry-level sales role is where hundreds of people throughout the company got their start, including the vast majority of LP leadership. We love to promote from within, and many internal departments prefer to recruit from our sales team because of the education and work ethic that is required. I’m sorry you didn’t find a long-term home here at LP, but we wish you the best and sincerely hope you find success in your next role. -Sales Leadership Team

Pros

Working from home is beneficial

Cons

Rope you in by saying they’ll teach you digital marketing if never having any experience with it. They give you a couple of PowerPoints and expect you to be experts. Hard to hit quota if you don’t know what exactly you’re selling. Pay is awful and not a liveable wage

Thank you for the feedback. We have an extensive training program that is far more than a couple power points. We have a full education team and sales development coordinators in every office. A good portion of our product team came from our sales org. That's one of the reasons some of the largest companies in the country are often trying to recruit from our team. I'm sorry your experience didn't align with this and wish you the best in your future endeavors. Mike W.
