Pros

1. Entrepreneurial. Despite growth and success, Lose It! has maintained internally an entrepreneurial feel in terms how it makes decisions, moves quickly, and addresses market challenges. 2. Benefits. Lose It!'s employee benefits package is legit off-the-charts amazing, I've never experienced anything like it at any other company. Top of the line health and medical, flexible vacation policy, and a yearly retreat to an international city are among the many benefits I appreciate most. 3. Empowerment. Employees are regularly included in the company planning process, the CEO and President give weekly updates on the company, and I truly feel I have a voice and input on the work that is to be done and how to go about doing it. 4. Caring "Family" atmosphere. Hard to maintain when a company keeps growing, but there remains still a general feeling of being part of a "Lose It!" family. A feeling that folks care about you, and that the company takes care of you in ways large and small. This has been part of the culture from the original founders and is carried through today with the current CEO and President. 5. Smart, Talented Employees. Hiring good talent can be difficult, and not everyone winds up being a good fit, but by and large Lose It!'s team is composed of very smart and talented people, who I am proud to work with.

Cons

Really one of the few downsides I can think of at Lose It! is in the area of engineering capacity. We have so many great opportunities and great ideas, it becomes a challenge to find the engineering capacity to work on them (which is why we are aggressively hiring!).

We feel lucky that we can provide benefits to support our employees and their families. This has been the heart and soul of the company and we continue to work to retain this important element of our character as we scale and grow. Thanks for taking the time to give us this feedback. We don’t do this work for the kind words, but it’s a nice reminder we are spending our time on what’s most important to our employees. We do take our time in evaluating potential candidates because for us it’s not just about filling roles, it’s about ensuring that we have a talented group of people with diverse experience and ideas to help lead us forward. There are open opportunities at Lose It! and we look forward to welcoming more engineers to join our team.
