We’re glad to hear you are feeling you have the autonomy and agency to make decisions about your work at Lose It!. Supporting our employees to work independently and have ownership of projects from start to finish has always been a principle of our company and something we continue to preserve and build on as we grow. Creating a culture of balance has also been in our DNA from the start and is something we have been able to maintain as we’ve grown from a start-up to a stable business. Thanks for recognizing our progress. In planning for 2021, we have been thinking a lot about some of the issues you bring up, specifically employees not feeling like they have an understanding of how work teams tie up to company goals. We’re proactively working on this feedback by taking a look at all activities around the company to ensure they are aligned to our goals. We’re looking at different ways of working next year to focus the entire company even more on the mission of the business. As a team who is driven by purpose, emotions sometimes lead and drive us forward but at the end of the day, we do have to keep the best interest of the company in mind by choosing to make decisions based on “we” vs. “me”. We lead with humility in this work and try to ensure we are making and explaining decisions without diminishing the passion behind our ideas.
