Bad, Bad, Bad!

Pros

Mr Mitchell established a great company but 70yrs down the track, it is becoming a different company! It is a subsidiary and owned by an independent entity.

Cons

Senior managers, Directors and others alike, are using the company just for their own benefit and to pass time. These guys are so unethical, ruthless, liars and abusive - they do not care about others, but have great marketing stuff about themselves on online profiles - some even have glamorous photos to go with their profile. Can you imagine being in a team with them?

Poor business decisions

Pros

Mitchell is definitely a place surrounded with good people. I have made many genuine friendships at Mitchell. Mitchell is also trying their best to be a place that cares about their employees and holds different social events and groups for various activities.

Cons

Focus on instant revenue gains instead of long term solutions to revenue problems. The company has gone downhill ever since the acquisition by KKR. The focus has been all on meeting revenue expectations NOW and not long term solutions that would be better in sustaining revenue and the business. Mitchell has resorted to firing many employees and moving to outsourcing, which was not a good idea since quality and customer satisfaction took a blow (as did employee workload). Highly paid employees are constantly being cut and the workload consumed by the lower paid employees, which results in people quitting, customers leaving, more lay-offs, and the cycle continues.

Pros

- Newer facilities - Cafeteria and gym on site - Lots of tools for CRM, ERP and Expense Management

Cons

- Obsolete products especially on the Collision Repair side. The organization has been completely incompetent to release mobile, web based and platform centric applications. It got overpowered very quickly by the competition and has been extremely slow to react - Lack of vision and charisma from current management leading to employee low morale, disappointing product development and poor decision making process - Unfair and opinion biased performance review system which seems to reward incompetent and unaccountable people. High performers don't get promoted or rewarded properly on the other hand - Below market benefits (20% to 30% in some cases) especially with base salaries. Merit increases are random, very low for some and insanely high for others based on qualitative criteria - Good ol' boy network rewarding an elite few; this group is exempt of everything and spans across Management, IT, Product Management, Marketing and Sales to name a few. No matter how many misses, customers' complaints, large IT failures... they still come on top with a slap on the wrist and a huge bonus at the end of the year!!! - New equity firm KKR has pushed the organization to lower expenses to its maximum, decrease investments and constantly re-tool
