Pros

- Somewhat tolerable for early career - 401k match is average - Pre-Covid travel opportunities were great

Cons

- No training for consulting teams who are then thrown into leading client trainings (no training for the trainers... ironic) - Lies everywhere... Being directly told to lie to clients about experience levels, product capabilities, training opportunities, resource availability, and application function - Rounds of layoffs, bonuses cut, promotions delayed, and merit increases reduced all so that the corporate entity can fuel its acquisitions efforts - employees take the hit of poor corporate strategy - Understaffed, overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated. Very unhealthy environment to work in - Aggressive corporate acquisition strategy without a plan to bridge the knowledge gap that accompanies it, which leads to misaligned teams, horrible communications, little-to-no product knowledge, client confusion, internal frustrations and toxicity in the workplace - Lives up to 0 of its values. Through the course of COVID and the BLM protests, Netsmart had so many opportunities to, at the very least, support its employees. Not only did they not support us, but actually they harmed us in what they did do (more in the next point...) - COVID: Throughout the course of COVID, Netsmart began to force employees back into the office. However, cases in the office started rising quickly. When an employee tests positive and are accounted for in the building, communications are only sent out to those immediately around the desk of that employee. We have 2 buildings (one with 5 floors and one with 3 floors) that have multiple communal areas and minimal access points. Employees in the immediate vicinity of a positive test are notified and told to work from home "only if necessary", then to return back to the office. Although when everyone was working from home, productivity and performance increased for the company, there is now a corporate push to get everyone in the office as much as possible, despite it being a potentially dangerous place to be in with no benefits. Teams don't even lunches together anymore...

Pros

I guess food, coworkers, coffee

Cons

It’s funny this company is still called Netsmart, considering most of the executives (which are predominantly white males) and VP’s are former Cerner associates. They left Cerner for more money and less responsibility... just to make the lives of those underneath them horrible. They come in packs, HR is encouraged to hire from associates friends after receiving so many “referrals.” It’s a Cerner 2.0 party, with less organization and no loyalty to current associates. Associates who have been with the company for YEARS are being let go in the midst of a pandemic, so they can hire others to help “get us there.” It’s an odd thought process that those who built the foundation of Netsmart are useless when it’s time to “scale the business” but remember they “care about your mental well being.” If someone gets let go, they will lie to you and tell you it was performance. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS. It comes down to them wanting to control their staff and anyone who defends themselves or doesn’t act “aggressive” and extremely friendly will be pushed out. Regardless if they are a great associate. I saw it happen to TOO many leaders and great associates. You're easily replaceable and they often times will replace people confidentially, only for you to be fired and your replacement start shortly after. Most management isn’t ready to manage, but Netsmart will give any referral with experience outside of the company the opportunity. Unless you’re a current associate, then you better prove yourself for 10 years but remember, all the time you have invested won’t help us “grow.” There’s no transparency between management and their teams. Leadership mirrors behaviors of adolescent gossiping. They feel the right to be in the “know” of everyone’s personal lives and use this knowledge to make professional decisions. Don’t fall victim to their “masked kindness.” It’s a show. You should hear the things they say in privacy. You are not trusted to perform, especially remote. You must have no work/life balance to maintain a positive reflection of your work ethic. You can take PTO but you’ll still be expected to work while taking time off. They promote “mental health” however, they do anything to belittle your achievements and efforts if it doesn’t benefit the business in a particular time of urgent need. They hold their great associates back, knowing they will succeed due to fear of being replaced by individuals who are more equipped for the job and don’t need to “know somebody” to earn a spot at the company. If you’re from Cerner - welcome aboard. You may not even need to interview.

Pros

- Opportunities for growth - Travel every 3 weeks-ish (pre-covid) - Schedule freedom - Decent salary

Cons

- Some products have very streamlined/effective teams, while others are complete disasters - Flip between being overworked or having no work at all - Poor management and communication - Promised to have support, but when the moment comes left out to dry - Constant firefighting (system, teams, clients, everything) - Corporate growth through acquisitions at the cost of employees (ex: layoffs, promised pay raises were cut, and promised promotions were cut all while the company purchased multiple companies - money goes to the "health of the company" not the health of the employees) - Sales teams promise what cannot be delivered - Projects on unrealistic timelines - Products pushed onto clients that do not fit needs or do not work at all - No training on the system or configuration at all, and then thrown into leading training clients putting their financial health at risk - Promotes culture and values everywhere, but fails to live up to them at every turn
