Pros

This is a fast-paced environment You do learn a lot You work with a variety of accounts

Cons

- NO WORK-LIFE BALANCE - Mental Health? Forget about it. - You're overloaded with accounts - Management doesn't care how many accounts they give you and choose to focus on your health and interaction reporting with clients over the job getting done - At least 3-5 meetings a day with either clients, internal prep meetings, internal meetings that could have been an email - which essentially leaves you with NO time to do the actual work you're having meetings about - They use click-up (which is THE WORST project management platform) - The company recently acquired another company last year, yet they still treat OuterBox people better (more specifically, monetarily) - Management thinks that by giving their staff these treats every now and then it's a good enough distraction from how miserable everyone is with the amount of work they have to do. - I left late last year and I only RECENTLY got over the trauma of working there. Long-story short - get your experience if you're willing to put up with this and RUN for the hills.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at OuterBox. We’re glad to hear you valued the fast-paced environment and the opportunity to learn while working with a variety of accounts. We appreciate you bringing concerns forward from your time with OuterBox. Supporting balance, manageable workloads, and mental health is a priority for us, and we continue to evaluate how we can improve in these areas. Since you left OuterBox in late 2024, we’ve made several changes to help reduce meeting fatigue, streamline account management, and ensure our project management tools work more effectively for the team. Culture is another area we focus on every day. While we enjoy celebrating our team with giveaways and fun activities, we also know that true engagement comes from feeling supported and having equitable opportunities. That’s why we continue to invest in listening to our employees and acting on their feedback. Our current retention rate of 79% reflects progress, but we are committed to building an even stronger, more sustainable environment for our team. We’re grateful for your contributions during your time here, and we wish you continued success in your career.

Toxic Leadership & Constant Turnover

Pros

Some of the coworkers are great people trying to make the best of a bad situation. Remote work is a plus, but it barely makes up for everything else.

Cons

Leadership does not care about you as a person, just about what you can produce, and even that’s never enough. Upper management is completely disconnected from what it’s like to be in the trenches. You’ll be overworked, underpaid, and undervalued. No matter how hard you work or how loyal you are, you’re disposable. There’s zero transparency. People are getting fired left and right with little to no explanation. Morale is constantly low, and the environment is one of fear, not support. Instead of fixing the real issues or supporting their teams, their “solution” is to hire contractors to patch the gaps. Feedback is rarely constructive, and leadership has no interest in growth unless it’s to benefit the bottom line.

We’re proud to be a remote-forward organization, and we’re glad to hear you’ve had a positive experience working with the team. That said, we want to be clear: our leadership does care about our teammates. Communication and accountability are core expectations at OuterBox. We don’t just encourage feedback—we’ve built multiple, intentional channels to collect it, including monthly all-company meetings, recurring surveys, a virtual suggestion box, open office hours with the CEO, and weekly access to our leadership team. Feedback isn’t ignored; it’s reviewed, addressed, and used to shape our decisions and priorities, which we regularly share back with the full team. We’re also focused on retention and long-term growth—not just as goals, but as strategic outcomes. Our current monthly retention rate is 78%, and our average teammate tenure is 4 years. These results are driven by our continued investment in career development, clear advancement paths, and ongoing training opportunities. At OuterBox, we set high standards because our clients and our team deserve the best. But we also work hard to create an environment where people are supported, challenged, and given real opportunities to grow. That’s the culture we’re committed to, and we’re excited about where we’re headed.
