Pros

Everyday I work with very talented engineers on challenging projects in a company that has a fun and inclusive culture that makes me feel valued and at home within my department and within the company as a whole. They support you pursuing personal technical development and growing your technical skill set while also working on billable projects. Our management is very selective about projects, clients, and new hires, so we work with great clients on challenging projects along side talented individuals. I think this is largely due to our POWER flex work from home policy. We work remotely with people across the region, so we are able hire the best available. Our department manager does an excellent job with resourcing, and our work load is distributed well so that most of us don't feel overwhelmed, but enjoy staying busy. I've honestly never been happier working anywhere else!

Cons

We're being sold by our existing employee shareholders to WSP which is a publicly owned company with employees who rate it as 3.6/5 rating on this site. So much of what has made POWER engineers a great place to work has been accredited to our grassroots culture and employee ownership that I don't think it will stay this way once we become part of WSP.

Pros

Flexible schedule, work from home, bosses dont hold many people accountable(pro and con).

Cons

Accepts way too much work compared to staff/resources. They tend to plan project schedules if everything would go smoothly/perfect. Employee turnover seems high. Poor communicators when changes to processes occur. Managers rarely have employees back. The people with “can-do” attitudes get promoted even when they are consistently late on their project deliverables.

Thank you so much for taking time to leave a review. We always appreciate honest feedback, and we know from our internal survey results that our teams don't feel like change is communicated well, so we're working hard to find ways to improve that. Our overall voluntary turnover rates are quite a bit below the industry benchmark, but if you're seeing a significant amount of turnover in your group and you don't feel like you have manager support, we encourage you to speak with your HR generalist. Thank you again for leaving an honest review—it's the only way we can improve.

Pros

I've worked in corporate environments my entire career, and this is the first company that sees you as more than a number, The atmosphere here is unlike any other I've encountered. Everyone is amazingly friendly, family-oriented, flexible and supportive. They reward a strong work ethic and see potential, not just a degree you may or may not hold. Will never regret the career change coming here.

Cons

Post-covid environment has majority of employees working from home so a lot of communication is remote.
