Nice benefits, terrible leaders

Pros

Healthcare tech is such an important industry to be in and the product itself does connect patients to care that need it in a way that makes you feel good about the work. Good snacks in the office (pre-COVID) and fun social events - they definitely don't mind opening the pocketbook for a good party. Great benefits all around.

Cons

Leadership here was incredibly immature. I witnessed executive team members yelling at each other, making fun of each other behind each other's backs, and using discriminatory language and microaggressions in both private and public spaces. Overall lots of unprofessional behavior that got chalked up to "startup culture". There was a lack of direction at multiple levels. I know several team members, including myself, who'd put a ton of work into things to just get the rug pulled out from under them because leaders had no idea which direction to drive or what they wanted. Some of this was due to the willingness to bend over backward for clients. Other times, it became clear that things were being done with no specific result or requirements in mind.

Pros

- Free snacks (if that's really a work place pro) - Flexible work from home policies - Some really smart co-workers

Cons

- This company does not care about its employees. - Management uses review cycle to justify NOT giving a promotion - No recognition for the huge effort that the regular team members put in - Lots of deception by higher management - Low Pay - Toxic environment - Company does not follow its own policies - Lack of overall transparency - Rumor mill

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback. At Pager, we work hard to ensure that each employee feels valued, recognized, and invested in. We do our best to ensure compensation and promotions are evaluated fairly and equitably. We have formal performance reviews twice a year when our employees are eligible to be promoted, receive raises and bonuses, and have an outlet to discuss professional development and career growth. The Leadership team works closely with our new culture committee to brainstorm and introduce new avenues of opportunity for our team and to communicate directly with leadership. As a company, we always aim to provide the best experience and understanding of where we are currently and plan to go as a company understanding to our employees.
