Pros

If you are right of college and can't find anything better, it will put food on the table until you can.

Cons

It was the WORST job and experience i've had! The training for sales isn't that bad, but there is essentially no product training. I left a sales job making $100K because I wanted another challenge and it this seemed very promising long term. At the end of the day you're selling payroll, but they make you believe you're changing the world somehow. It is 100% turn and burn, a VERY long process to actually make a sale, and every company you are calling has been called 5 times already that day by a payroll company. I wasn't a slacker, I was well over my quota when I left, and thank GOD I did. There were 12 people in my training class about 18 months ago, none of them are still there!!! DON'T LISTEN TO THE RECRUITERS WRITING REVIEWS ON HERE!!!

We’re sorry to read of your experience and hope you are able to find a challenging career that fits you better. As you can see by our previous responses, we do not shy away from the fact that being a rep at Paycom is hard work. With that said our sales reps are able to earn substantially more out of the gate than they would elsewhere. They really define their own future at Paycom and that is something we are very proud of. We also want to clarify that each of our sales classes has representatives that are still current members of the organization. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

I initially applied because I heard about the wonderful culture Paycom had to offer. I am thankful for the personal relationships I have made with the individuals I have met. Additionally, no co-pay for mental health services has been extremely beneficial. Unfortunately I have needed to talk to my therapist about work weekly.

Cons

Paycom does little to show its commitment to prioritize culture and employee growth, wellbeing, & success. Very few leaders foster a positive environment of transparency and open communication. We are often blind sided by abrupt corporate change that has little consideration for the most important asset to the company- its employees. You will be asked to drive to work in hazardous road and weather conditions despite the company being fully capable of functioning out of office. You will be asked to provide a note from your doctor no mater how much Sick Leave you put in. You will be asked to work mandatory overtime because your department is incredibly behind and understaffed due to “restructuring” or layoffs. The company will respond to low scoring reviews urging people to provide feedback to Human Resources, but I personally have found HR to be dismissive and combative when feedback and concerns are reported. Every time I have talked to HR I have wished I never reported my concerns due to how I was treated in the meeting. Leadership will ask for your input, thoughts, and concerns and retaliate by claiming you are being “negative towards the company.” You will be censored and monitored here. There is no sense of belonging because this is a toxic work environment.

At Paycom, we're constantly evolving to meet the changing needs of our organization and clients, and we believe that our business goals and our commitment to our team members are not mutually exclusive - in fact, investing in our employees is essential to delivering exceptional service to our clients. We have not experienced layoffs, in fact, we’re still hiring across many of our departments. We're disappointed to read your review, as we hold our HR team to a high standard of providing exceptional guidance, support and resources to our employees. We recognize the value of feedback and appreciate our team members that provide it. We’d like to learn more about your experience and encourage you to initiate a conversation with your leader or utilize our anonymous reporting hotline, which can be found here: https://payc.me/governance.

Pros

Decent benefits and pay, a lot of good people work at the company.

Cons

Upper management is very hypocritical when it comes to caring about employees. The company boasts about having the best benefits and caring so much about their employees but their actions say otherwise. They rarely let us work from home during inclement weather, even though we have the resources to do so. They recently shorted paid maternal leave from 12 to 8 weeks and didn’t tell us; we are now required to submit a doctors note for an additional two weeks of time off (unpaid if you don’t have PTO) for “family bonding”. For years Paycom had Flex Time, which allowed employees to be flexible with their schedule for doctors appointments, childcare, and minor emergencies. The CEO recently caught wind of this and had NO IDEA his own company had this implemented and immediately got rid of it, which put all of his employees in tough situations.

At Paycom, we take pride in our employee-centric culture and award-winning benefits. We understand that our employees value these benefits, and we're committed to maintaining them. In fact, our paid medical maternal leave has increased, and we continue to offer support to our team members during significant life events. We prioritize open communication and transparency in our decision-making processes, and while we understand that our team members may have different experiences, we trust that being on campus unites our teams by providing a supportive work environment, ensuring all employees are best equipped with the resources needed to succeed. We strongly encourage you to reach out to your leader or our team at hrmgmt@paycomonline.com so that we can learn more about your concerns and experience.
