I would never speak negatively to others and taints another person's perspectives but I felt this needed to be shared. Through several hours of family members consoling me and professional help just so I can finally get Paycom out of my mind, I still face a lot of anxiety from my time spent at Paycom. I don't even know where to begin but I do hope the individuals who are reading this really understand that this is the truth about not just my experience but others who expressed the same on Glassdoor. (I will only speak to my experience, however). Time after time, when I expressed ideas and process improvements, these were diminished by upper leadership. You're under a microscope and the pressure is super high. You're tasked to come up with solutions and process improvement but after my own experience, it's clear that's not the case. I was stacked with others' responsibilities and was doing the work of multiple people. When mentioned this to leadership, I was told that if I couldn't handle this then I wouldn't be cut out for a promotion to move higher. Countless overtime (wasn't hourly so no extra pay) and time away from family. I'm all about the hustle but not when it took me away every week and evening from going home to my family. If leadership doesn't believe in you, they will make sure to hinder your growth within the company. (If only they see me now. Everything they didn't believe I could be or do, others believe I could) I won't speak for anyone else but I saw within my own experience. I had other Sr leaders tell me I would be high on their promotion list if I moved over to their part of the house but was definitely not the case where I was at. I think they hinder me because of speaking up after working long hours for months in a row. I was burnt out and was trying to ask my leader how they could help me....which is what I see everyone's response to these reviews state that leaders were supposed to do. Some of these reviews are over exaggerating the negative parts but the overall environment at corporate is extremely hard. From having to run to get coffee in the break rooms and convincing direct leadership that you want to have lunch so you can just have minutes back in your day where you can breathe without them being steps away from you. (Again, speaking about my own experience). I was preached to go to the on-campus counselors, and they're great for those who need to vent and have someone listen to them but they don't contribute to change. A huge win for the company would allow these individuals who are listening to the employees in this environment to have a helping hand to change the way the company moves in the future. As previously mention in my pros, the benefits are wonderful. Especially the time off (PTO whatever they call it). Did I get to utilize this great benefit to its utmost potential? Unfortunately no. My TL never made it easy. If I was sick or had a planned vacation for some nice R&R, I knew once I got back to work that "something" was wrong and I "could" have prevented it. This doesn't make anyone feel like they could take some time off. Especially because if I ever called in sick, my TL would text and call me throughout the day. As far as HR goes, I spent plenty of time filing official complaints with them (gave so many concrete details and was thanked for bringing it up) and saw no progress when I was an employee. My question to HR -- how can we feel comfortable to come to you and again, not see any change? I was told within HR that there were multiple of the same complaints yet nothing was done regarding it. These complaints and solutions were possible to resolve, I wasn't asking for the impossible. Workload - Fast pace for sure but their work-life balance mentality doesn't seem the same when other companies out there is the same pace as well. I'm blessed to be a part of a new company that runs the same pace but emphasizes my time back. Sometimes when 5 pm hits and you gotta stay late, do it. But when TLs and Managers are gaslighting me to stay after to make sure I look like I want to move up in my position seems horrible. Or even passive-aggressively asked me if I had gotten everything I needed to be done for the day/future weeks. I currently (not at Paycom) have the same amount of workload with a lot of responsibilities but seem to have leaders who encourage me to be off in the evenings and actually get their hands dirty and work alongside with. I think this is something that a lot of leaders at Paycom should practice. So much respect for leaders who can actually emphasize and work alongside their teams. Just wanted to share my experience and not speak for anyone else. This was only a fraction of my reality at Paycom but couldn't share other parts since I want to remain anonymous. But like the responses asked, I did share my entire experience with HR during my exit interview. I haven't heard anything since leaving but hopefully one day I get to hear the great news that change happened and Paycom has a great working environment.
