Pros

Awesome to work with all types of animals. Great pay for Leadership positions. 401K

Cons

Don’t be fooled. Everything looks promising but in reality you’re selling your soul to the devil. No work life balance at all. You’re bothered on PTO time, days off, overnight, and anytime. No one at the home office cares about what’s going on at store level because if they did they would have caught on to the 10 store leaders that have either left the district or been fired out of the16 stores in less then a year. The expectations that are set are unrealistic and if they aren’t met you are required to work 6 days a week. No one comes out to fix anything, if you have problems with your HVAC system or fire system you’re in for long nights of phone calls that don’t stop because no one cares enough to have someone come out and look at it and fix it properly. This company is all about “unconditional love” but in reality that’s a lie and if you come out as gay you’re treated differently. One thing I have to say is people don’t leave jobs they leave people and bad leadership can make good people run and others lose motivation.

They put on a good face

Pros

Coming to work and seeing all the pets that come in is nice. Schedule is written two weeks out

Cons

You are expected to get 60 hours of work done in 40. There is no labor in the stores to meet the high expectations that corporate has. Corporate has no idea what actually goes on in the stores when they make a new policy or procedure even though they say they test everything out. The new hire "training" is a joke. If you get hired be prepared to come in with a lot of knowledge or be doing alot of work off the clock cause you aren't going to learn anything about the pets we sell or the products. Anytime you need help with something that cant be handled at the store level it either takes multiple days to get a response, if you get one, or you just get a kind response giving you the middle finger.

PetSmart Bloomberg Article

Pros

PetSmart has a recycling slogan - "Think Thrice". My advice, if you're considering an offer from PetSmart decline. If you're considering an offer external to PetSmart, accept the offer, and leave. Skip the exit interview, its a waste of time.

Cons

Find a Bloomberg article from Friday 3/29. Article documents how PetSmart creditors are suing for how the Chewy was acquired. The 3rd paragraph is a major red flag for anyone considering joining or remaining at PetSmart.
