You will notice shortly after your first day that the walls have eyes and ears, which provides for a rather hostile environment. Security is tight in Company headquarters; your every move is noted. This company uses a culture of fear (more than reward) to motivate employees. Salaries are also low considering the amount of work you're expected to perform, and there is a high level of turnover. The Company has a reputation for chewing up and spitting out its employees, so my advice to young college grads applying for the management trainee role: do it ONLY if you want to start a career in the railroad or other contracting industries, and take advantage of your time there to rotate as often as possible. Working for an actual Class 1 railroad doesn't provide the same opportunities to bounce around different departments and participate in such a vast spectrum of projects, but they surely pay better.

Everything besides a free lunch and free gym. Most miserable place I have worked. I will not forget how the people treat others and talk behind your back. Especially those in management. They act like high schoolers.
