Pros

Great work - life balance. My position requires no nights, weekends or holiday shifts. I have a great deal of autonomy in my position. I care for many different types of patients which keeps my knowledge and skills sharp. I am able to spend quality time with most of my patients which allows more time for education and supportive care.

Cons

Outpatient settings for a nurse can be challenging and sometimes stressful as you are often the only nurse onsite.

Pros

Absolutely NOTHING that I can imagine.

Cons

SUPER TOXIC work environment. Upper management treats their subordinates like working slaves. 6 paid holidays- literally the bare minimum (standard is usually 10 days). Executives get catered lunch every day but for anyone else can come eat their leftovers after 1pm. No holidays, PTO, or even weekends allowed during busy season specially budget seasons ~ from Aug- Nov. Upper management constantly praises people who stay working late everyday but constantly criticizes those who work efficiently and smart. Do not expect work life balance in this place- it simply doesn't exist. 401K match is almost non existent- you need to put in 6% and the company will match only 1%. The turnover is extremely high and reason being is the toxic work culture. I saw more than 15 people in a span of 1 year in a department of only 30. Favoritism runs high and you got to play politics to survive.
