Pros

Flexible office hours are a great perk - however this is looking like its going away as management tries to put more controls on employees since revenues are significantly down.

Cons

Almost all of the senior and middle managers who built the company and inspired its growth have left in the last 12 months and they have been replaced by internal candidates with very little tenure and/or no previous management or industry experience. This is because they are having a very difficult time attracting good outside talent. The U.S. sales executive leadership is in over their head and is faced with responsibilities beyond their capability to attract, motivate, & lead the quality sales org that is needed to turn this company around.

Pros

Pay is decent and so is the location. You'll find a nicely stocked kitchen and a convincing attempt to put "fun" into the culture via happy hours and events.

Cons

Company lacks the basic foundations needed for a principled culture. This is largely due to inexperienced middle management, deceitful company practices, and all the negative holdovers the current company inherited from its disgraced former CEO and his original team. The ad tech space is constantly changing and responding to things like ad blockers and native ads, but you get the sense that R1 isn't well-prepared to respond to industry dynamics and could quickly find itself displaced by a faster thinking competitor.

Nice people. Unclear direction.

Pros

Nice, hardworking people. Fun office culture and good autonomy for employees. Good work opportunities for junior people. Lots of recognition (mostly fear that people will leave...).

Cons

No clear business strategy in a very commoditized marketplace. Very conservative, secretive and tentative. Crazy founder with big ideas is gone and he's still tormenting the company and actually competing against it with his own new company
