Pros

Freezing all engineering hiring in the US was an A+ move. Moving engineering to India will save much needed money, thumbs up. Small but nice kitchen. Remaining engineers are cool... well until they either leave (which is happening fast) or replaced by offshore teams :p

Cons

Engineering teams work in silos unaware of each other's work. No work-life balance whatsoever! Not much career prospects for engineers, unless you would like to move to Bangalore. Little-to-none transparency from management.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that this was your experience at Reflektive. It is our belief that having global talent pools from which to hire is a competitive advantage for our company and its prospects. Being able to scale and add diverse geographic offices to manage a growing customer base is also essential for our growth. It is certainly not our intention for employees to feel in the dark regarding their career path. We are currently mapping out career paths for various functions so success can be better defined and planned for. With our quarterly review conversation cadence, we strive to ensure all employees have regular, in-depth conversations with their managers about their career growth, accomplishments and any areas of concern. If you would like to share details about your specific experience regarding our check-in process, feel free to send an email to hr@reflektive.com. Transparency and communication at a company that is growing as quickly as we are is not always easy, but it remains a top priority. We recently launched an expanded leadership team that includes additional representatives from each team to more broadly disseminate and discuss key initiatives with the rest of the company. This deeper level of transparency will ensure teams discuss what they need from one another to meet their goals and remain focused on our strategic initiatives for the year. Thanks again for sharing your feedback, and we wish you the best of luck in your next career step.

Lack of Transparency

Pros

Great down to earth people who genuinely care about others, and what the product is meant to do. Honestly some of the best people I have ever worked with.

Cons

There is no transparency at all. The direction of the company is very unclear, to the employees at least. It seems like the CEO prefers for the company to operate in silos vs collaborating cross functionally. Not sure why this is, but it has lead to poor hiring, layoffs, and makes it extremely difficult to manage expectations with direct reports. The product is great in theory, but we don't even use it internally.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We are happy to hear that the people you worked with are some of the best! We strive to hire and retain people who share our values, and it’s encouraging to know that it’s recognized. We hear your concerns about a lack of transparency and appreciate the feedback. We know the importance of strong communication and, as our organization grows, we continue to improve how we disseminate the right information throughout the company. We recently expanded our leadership team to include additional managers across departments as a way to effectively share updates from the executive team. This inclusion has already begun to address the issue of organizational silos (which is a common challenge among many fast-scaling organizations). Communication is critical to the health and success of the company — and although we have not yet perfected it, we continually look for ways to improve. We see high usage of our tool daily, both from our customers and our own employees. At the same time, there are always opportunities to improve internal usage, which is why we have formed a “Reflektive Best Practices” team to promote even better utilization of our product. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We take these insights seriously and wish you the best in your next endeavor.
