Pros
I enjoyed the staff I worked with outside of my department. Renown is big so there are a lot of opportunities to see different things. Benefits and pay were competitive.
Cons
I was basically forced to leave after almost 2 years because HR found any and every excuse to get rid of me. They blindsighted me and had me sign saying that I was in the wrong. My co-worker had a personal vendetta against me and my management and HR totally took their side. I was called into one meeting and yelled at for multiple things which I argued and was found to be correct yet HR/management sat there and continually tried to manipulate things to make me look in a bad light. I brought up unprofessional things my co-workers were doing yet I was made out to be out of line. I was told not to bring up issues unless I was directly involved in them..?!? It was a horrible experience. I was actually one of the good guys, nominated for employee of the month multiple times, yet they put a target on my back and didn't give up until I was gone. I spent a few months going to work feeling mentally and physically ill to be there and my final conversation with them, where they accused me of things that weren't true, made me realize they wouldn't give up so I left via constructive dismissal. When I sent a resignation letter, no one responded yet they sent out emails to my co-workers that I was gone. I still have a badge, keys to various locations, scrubs, etc yet it seems Renown has washed their hands of me. This has been eye opening. It doesn't matter if your wonderful at your job and your co-workers slack off... if they don't like you then you are as good as gone. They lost a good employee but I worked too hard for my doctorate degree to be treated like we're still in high school.
