Pros

I will say 5 words to get the minimum.

Cons

Every day. Every single day is a con. I despise this company with every ounce of hatred in my body. Just when you think it can’t get any worse… you get used to bending over …. Then it gets worse. It never fails. At what point does BAT think that you can actually treat employees like this and not catch any negative reviews? Not that they care. They don’t. It’s a tobacco company. They REALLY do not care about any of us. Especially in trade. We’re basically the annoying minions that keep catching covid and put stickers on springloads. So my issue today is Propel 2.0. You offer packages. Great. Smart ones takes it and the other ones left over don’t have a choice to stay. Literally nobody wants to be here. We would all leave if we could. Anyway, not the point. So then we go down the line and casually lay off layer by layer of trade marketing. Without any reasons. Now we get to the TMs. It’s supposed to be announced on Monday Aug 30th. It wasn’t. They pushed it back to Aug 31. Guess what!!!! It STILLLLLLL WASN’T ANNOUNCED!!!! Let’s see how we can get one more day out of the idiots. Just keep postponing the inevitable. Suck every piece of dignity from us. And just continue to treat us like crap. While I say that I wonder if that’s what Guy meant when he said to “cut the crap.” I mean do they just hate trade THAT much to not worry about how his feels to us to sit and wait for our fate? I hate this company. Everybody hates this company. Home office, trade, even global graduates leave hating it. Congrats BAT. I don’t know how you messed up so quickly. I’ve never seen anything like it. I hate working here. But it doesn’t matter! Because management DOES NOT CARE. Just a number. And if you filter the reviews to this week you’ll see I’m not alone. The entire country feels this way. There are so many reasons that I hate the company but today it’s propel 2.0. Tomorrow it’ll probably be whatever new initiative or “updated BLG” or “pivot” this or “be comfortable being uncomfortable” that or a town hall meeting inviting us to get yelled at or even a survey about how we feel about coming back to the office when WE HAVE BEEN KNEE DEEP IN COVID FOR OVER A YEAR!!!!!! By the way Altria is at home again.

Pros

401K is great, vacation, company vehicle-(though you pay $175 per month “for gas”)

Cons

Everyone should know- last week many people were told by SDR’s to leave a 5 star review for the Company and doing so would result in receiving Company $WOW$ award of $50 which is completely laughable and wrong! How about you keep your measly $50 bribe and I’ll continue with my honest review of a not so honest company… I started my career with this company almost 15 years ago and knew I wanted to retire here; however, that has all changed with the BAT takeover. My role is no longer about coaching and developing talent while working to grow and evolve overall business, rather it is now only about revenue and making BAT “leadership” and shareholders more money. They have sacrificed a great company built by Reynolds’s legacy employees only to have their own people, with zero Trade experience, infiltrate Home Office and soon they will do the same to the field sales. BAT is more concerned about fueling their corporate and individual egos than ensuring the continued success of Reynolds employees, business or brands. The credibility we all have worked to gain with our customers has quickly dwindled away thanks to the “suck it up and take it- or else” mentality BAT has pushed on everyone. The overall culture has deteriorated as Senior Directors guzzle the BAT kool-aid with pleasure, specifically within the SSA. They bark orders and drive fear but are unable to coach or demonstrate what is expected. Their greatest accomplishment to date is making their management team feel inadequate while reaping the benefits of their hard work. If you have a question or need additional insight be prepared to be spoken to and treated like you are the dumbest person on earth. Additionally, they are supporting BAT’s empty attempt to improve diversity and have given specific direction to promote female POC regardless of performance or capabilities. And in doing so we all should be okay with overlooking (white males)who have been identified as high potential succession candidates. The fact this direction was given to almost every KAM/DM should cause concern for everyone no matter their race. Grad. Interns should be cautious coming to work for BAT as we have all been instructed to give a smoke and mirror experience. The job they are trying to sell you does not exist so use them for the summer but do yourself a favor- work elsewhere! Changes and lack of transparency to goals and bonus payouts makes it impossible for many to achieve due to constant moving target. The fact they can increase your goal one week before the quarter ends with zero explanation or concessions is a reminder how shady the entire process has become. Inflation is at an all time high yet we were all given less than 2% cost of living increase this year and even less year before last. Most of us are making less today than we did 3 years ago yet are working more and harder than ever- this of course does not pertain to SDR’s and up as they seem to be the only ones reaping the benefits. At this point I pray I am granted the recently announced severance, but if not my time with this company will soon be over, regardless!

Pros

They've made it easier to not defend working for a tobacco company.

Cons

A commitment to diversity is a joke. With the latest round of layoffs, the company got much less diverse. I'm terms of thought, race, orientation, and sex. The work load is not only impossible but makes no sense. The only folks that rise to the top are liars, fakes, lazy employees, master manipulators, or sociopaths willing to sacrifice their entire life to the game. Regardless of the role, much of your day is talking people of the ledge. Whether it be buyers, cycle planners, retailers, TMs, peers... managing the suck is exhausting and you never succeed HR is non-existent. HQ budgets are mismanaged as the priorities are always changing and either we need to spend now or we don't have enough. Not a solvent budgeting process. Hard work and results does nothing for you or your career. Lack of respect and appreciation at all levels. BAT has failed the Leader Meter. Finally, they don't give a crap. Cut the Crap, you don't Guy and Jorge. Paying interns and employees to post positive reviews has not and will not work. Compensation is a murky backroom deal like much of the company's international business. BAT has historically demonstrated they can't run the US business. They are doubling down on those things which didn't work, which makes them yes idiots. Layoffs have been and will be a norm. No sense of security which drives the worst politics and behavior

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Creating a culture of diversity and inclusion is one of our top priorities. To maintain the continuous progress we’re making, we have set bold, new diversity and inclusion ambitions. By 2025, we aim to reach gender parity in management roles and to significantly increase minority representation in management and senior management roles.
