Pros

Good pto policy, fair benefits, technology works fairly well compared to old big ins co systems

Cons

Company seems increasingly directionless, most of claims and customer service management came from the same former company and just set up their old boys club here, absolutely zero transparency in pay- no pay scale- no bonus structure - other departments that are more tech focused get big raises and bonuses while claims is blown off as second or third class citizens

Thank you for being a leader on Root’s Claims team. We hope to turn your time with us around to one where you feel valued and clear on our priorities. Transparency is so important to us, so we hope to make things right going forward.

Pros

Work from Home anywhere in the country.

Cons

Root tries to present themselves as different from those “stuffy, out-dated insurance companies”, when in actuality they’re just like every other property casualty insurance carrier out there. Root has yet to actually make a profit and requires capital to continue operations.

Pros

This was the best workplace for a long time. The c level does an amazing job setting a good culture from the top down, and have a good finger on the pulse of what Root needs to do in order to be competitive.

Cons

There have been lots of recent changes, like moving people into roles with unclear time lines on when people will be compensated for new rules. The projects that have been put in place to make work more consistent and fair continue to be put off, while the expectations of employees continuously increase. Root is at a critical point where they need to adjust compensation, or lower the expectations of work per person, or people will begin to leave in waves.
