      ~ Offered top tier salary and benefits ~ Although I worked remote, company culture was amazing ~ The Classic product is a potential industry disrupter, easy product to stand behind ~ Very transparent on the mission and where the company is trying to head ~ Fast paced and constant change, great environment if you're ready, willing, and able

      Cons

      ~ Uncertainty in job security (I got laid off) comes with the start-up territory ~ Poor planning and forecasting. Mass hire in Q3 of 2021, mass layoff in Q1 2022. Whichever team was involved in that planning and analysis should be ashamed. ~ Bubba Wallace is company spokesperson

      Not as hip anymore, but not a bad place to work

      Pros

      The engineers at Root are smart. You'll be working with top-tier engineers.

      Cons

      Inconsistent promotion requirements across teams. This is annoying if you switch teams. Company isn't doing well—laid off 20% of its staff recently. Company's pay isn't as competitive as it used to be, although it's not awful.
